Strength:
Ability to dampen stiff H&R's well Easy to adjust
Weakness:
None yet KYB AGX's match with H&R Sport Springs are a good combo. After installing them I took the car for a test run and was impressed right away. The car feels stiff ut does a good job eating up the ruts on the roadways. I haven't played around with the settings much but 2/6 is on of the best settings for the Maxima. This setup makes the car feel more refined and I highly recommend the H&R/AGX combo. You can't go wrong. |

VERY VERY Short life (10,000 miles) Dummy warranty If you consider getting KYBs, keep shopping... (Unless installing new shocks every 6-months is you favorite hobby.) These shocks have the worst longevity possible. Mine got totally worned-out (70% + reduction in damping) in only 6 months or 10,000 miles. I did not hit any major bumps or holes and my daily commute is on nice, recently paved wighways. Otherwise, it is a nice product, well finished, cheap and easy to adjust. the initial damping is good too. If you drive a light and fine-tuned car, that is sensitive to damping and vibrations, do not get these. Their life is so short that it just does not make any economical sense to install these. Keep in mind that having shocks installed costs 150 to 200$ plus an alignment everytime. Similar Products Used: Stock |

Amazing adjustment capability Easy to adjust Stiff ride
Weakness:
To Bumpy I found these shocks amazing I had lowered my car with Eibach Pro kit and had Nuespeed upper and lower sway front and back but never replaced my shocks till last month. I find that on my Hatchback 4 in the front and 8 in the back is way to bumpy of a ride for any human being but handles like there is no shocks but 3 and 6 is not to bad still bumpy but something I need to get use to. I find 3 & 6 is perfect for handling on and off ramps 120 no problem! I would recomend these shocks to anybody that does not have there car to low and want some really good handling shocks. I cannot compare these to any other brand exept Bilstein sport which my brother has on his car but is not available in the sport in the Civic for 2000 for some reason. Anways good deal good price so far good shocks Similar Products Used: Bilstein |

wear out in 6- 8 months P.O.S. Rear shocks blew after a year. If you keep them on the stiffest position possible they leak oil. After i took my car to show them that the shocks blew. And i thought that u're supposed to have a lifetime warranty. They said your car is too low, (1.5 inch drop) and that u race! HMMM isn't that the point of the "high perfomance"??? anyway, didn't even get my refund back Similar Products Used: stock shocks. |

Weakness:
now enough of a difference between adjustments they'll orange :) After looking at Koni and Billstein and Tokico these shocks impressed me with their sub $400 pricetag. After an easy install and fooling around with the 4 way adjustments... there isnt a WHOLE lot of difference between 1 and 2 or 3 and 4. My car runs just as good as stock on 2-3 and corners well on 4... and has a soft feel on 1. Similar Products Used: stocks... not close... |

The adjustable feautures are great The lower prices compared to Koni and Bilstein Easy to install
Weakness:
None so far The handling is much better than stock. I lowered my car only about 1.5 so they work well. The ride is still a little bouncy but that's cause civic's are so light. The adjustability is great though, it's noticeable right away. I find my car run's smoother on the stiffer setting's. I've kept mine at 3 and have been happy with it. These shocks are good if your car isn't to lowered and your on a budget. Similar Products Used: Stock shocks |

Fully adjustable dampening. The bright orange color of the shocks sticks out with rims. Great ride. I had stock shocks with my skunk2 coilovers and the ride was harsh. I finnally purchased some KYBS and the ride is a hell of alot better. Great shocks with 8 point adjustment in the rear and 4 in the front. |

Strength:
Firmer than stock even at lowest setting. Noticeable difference between settings. Overall feel and tuning; initially soft enough to give a streatable ride, but the longer the travel the firmer they get. Easy installation. Much more affordable than the elite brands.
Weakness:
Paint on the shock bodies not very scratch resistant. Don''t have the reputation of Koni. I was suprised nobody with a Civic had reviewed theses yet, so I thought I''d be the first. Working with my Suspension Techniques springs, I am very satisfied with these shocks so far. I didn''t realize how bad my stocks were until I installed these. The car feels so much more together and connected to the road. With stiff springs and stock shocks the car felt bouncy and nervous, but these give the ride a firm and balanced feel. Since my stocks were well worn when I got these, I don''t know how to compare their original performance, but virtually all of the G4 Civics should need their shocks replaced by now. I would call the lowest setting slightly firm, and not too weak for use with lowered springs. Each setting higher is instantly noticeable, so it really does make a difference. I have actually never gone all the way to 4 (the streets here suck). Originally I would set the fronts on 1 and the back on 2 or 3 to give it less understeer, but at 3 the back gets choppy. Since installing a G2 Integra rear sway bar, setting 2 provides a nice balance. Yes, adjustable shocks really do give you the ability to adjust the balance of your car''s handling. They adjust the turn-in balance as opposed to the steady-state cornering balance, which is adjusted mainly with springs or sway bars. In order to really get the tail to step out, you have to tap the brakes to get all the weight on the front wheels, and then crank the wheel quickly. You can feel the back shocks "catch" the weight transfer quicker than the fronts when they are set higher. What I am worried about with these are durability, since KYB doesn''t have the reputation of Koni or Bilstein. However, they did win an award for quality control last year, so hopefully they will last a long time. It''ll be a challange on these streets, though . . . Similar Products Used: None |
