Giving that Slammed Looked but without the commitment of buying just springs. Look good concidering i got some rims too. Check it: www.cardomain.com/id/nycivicex
Weakness:
doesnt have any... yet I have had these springs now for 4 months ... Haven't given me a problem yet. I have em matched with Tokico Illuminas. If Anyone says these are "Stiff and bumpy" well then you dont know what your talking about... Your Shocks are probably STIFF and your springs are bouncy. Once you get that set up correctly like I HAVE Adjust the shocks in the F:3 and B:4 and your all set. Similar Products Used: Stock...thats not a similar product huh? |

Handling, easy to set
Weakness:
Stiff, very bumpy ride, noisy, girls complain--"too bouncy". Would not be the best choice for daily driver. These coilovers are STIFF. The ride is very rough especially if the car is slammed to the ground. Sometimes you can even fill your spine hurt. But in the summer on nice roads these things are awesome. Car handles like a dream. Besides if properly installed the car looks great. (I use them with KYB AGX) Similar Products Used: none |

just a bit bouncy, some reason cant seem to get more than 2.5 in drop but good enough almost to the point of tucking on gsr rims when first installed i noticed that i coulnt drop the back that much and the ride was bouncy. but later found out that i had the springs reversed. after swicting them around they rode much better but they are a bit harsh, felt all the little cracks in the rode. i thought that it was my shocks but i replaced them with tokiko illuminas and they rode a little better, didnt feel cracks no more. then i installed H&R and Eibach springs with the tokikos and they were the same ride quality. i came to the conclusion that its not the springs but must be the suspension busings. my friend had skunk2's on his 92 si and it rides real smooth on his stock struts. adjustability, nothing more
Weakness:
the ride sucks..bouncy, be careful of bumps, it will make you car want to slide. crappy and harsh. you will feel everything. and oh yeah, did i mention that the ride SUCKS A$$. I been through 3 suspension setups within a little over a year. I had prokit/stock dampers, sportlines/tokicos, and now these skunk2's/tokicos. And I have to say the skunk2 are the worst of all 3 setups. The ride SUCKS!! If you cannot afford the the REAL coilovers, get yourselve a quality spring/shock combo. You will be glad you did. I would not recommend this product to anybody. Similar Products Used: don't bother with all those sleeve coilover setups, get the real one like B+G,Apex N1, or Tein. the rest are crap! |

They kick. Easy to adjust and looks great. Only prob was I had to cut the bump stops cause I slammed it so low. I LOVE IT. Rides rough, but out drives anything on the twistys! |

Good stiff springs for good cornering. 0-4" lowering.
Weakness:
My prototype (Skunkworks) didn't come with top spring retainer, but it's included now with the Skunk2 sets =D I have the SKUNKWORKS, prototype when it first came out. It's suppose to be equivelent to the Skunk2 street version. Option for extreme lowering is good. Threads haven't gone bad on me yet. Nice hard springs good for racing/performance but not for daily driving. In my preference I like it, but majority of the people who are going to install it in their cars for daily driving probably will not. My setup at 4" lowered front , 3.5" lowered rear. (!! Drivable with shorter body shocks !!) http://www.onlineshowoff.com/index.asp?section=profile&username=VOLKRACING |

Strength:
Quality. Double locking perches: no slipping (better than GC's with single perch and a little hex nut to lock). Adjustability: from like stock to a almost 3.5" drop! Durability: over a year no probs. Ride Quality: firmer and sportier than ever, won't bounce on you until your shocks blow. Value: pretty decent price for what you get. Appearance: probably #1 reason to get these, looks aggressive lowered. And since you can adjust the height, you can set it for show, or for daily driving.
Weakness:
Ride Quality: if you are the type who drives long trips, the ride may get annoying to some people. Small price to pay for looks. For most people, it's a better ride quality. After getting my new Si, I wanted to get a more aggressive stance since the stock height wasn't really impressive. Opted to get the Skunk2's since it was a really good name and was more affordable than the Ground Controls. I put them in myself and had it slammed about 3" for the first time. The ride was definitely firmer than before. I still have the stock dampers and they've lasted a year with them, although I'm planning to get a set of Koni Yellows. The ride is not bouncy, just a lot more firm. It makes driving on mountain roads a lot more fun cause it seems to grab the road. Also body roll is pretty much gone. It stays level even on aggressive turns. Same goes with braking and acceleration. The high spring rate on these coilovers are good considering the amount you could adjust them. If you were to slam your ride with a soft spring rate, you would most likely scrape the ground a lot on pot holes and bumps. I also have a 2001 BMW 325Ci, and the ride is pretty similar in both cars, just a little firmer in the Si. Suggest getting camber kit for big drops (Progress 1.5 degree camber kit was able to correct a 2.5" drop for me). |

Feels like a performance ride. i feel parts of the road i'd never felt before. cornering feels better as well.
Weakness:
The setup for my civic, i can't lower it any more in the back, so if i lower the front anymore i'll either have to cut the back springs or have a slanted look. Great ride, This is my first performance upgrade over stock. The people at Jotech did a good job installing it. Since the springs were so long in the back, i can't drop my rear coilovers any more, but i like the look of it anyhow. Normal price for the coilovers was $350, but i got them for $300 because i got ripped off on some crappy spring techs and i guess they felt sorry for me. |

dual locking perches, easy to adjust, big range of adjustability, look cool.
Weakness:
bouncy ride if lowered below 2 inches and coupled with stock struts and shocks. i did a lot of researching on the different coilover setups out there and i ended up buying the skunk2''s because of the good price and reputation. When i first put them on my car was lowered about 1.75 inches and the ride was great. it wasn''t that bouncy and the suspension distinctly felt stiffer. later on, i decided to lower my car about another 3/4 inch so now it is has about a 2.5 inche drop. i like how my car looks a lot better with the lower drop, but the ride is way bouncier! i personally don''t mind the roughness and overall i think these coilovers are a great purchase! Strength:
Double locking perch, stiff springs which gives you that race car feel, great range of adjustability, great handling, great looks
Weakness:
Bouncy - since springs are stiffer, your ride curves with all the hills and valleys and sticks more to the ground. I don''t care because that''s what gives you that firm feeling of having your car completely grounded and under control. I have these on Tokico Illuminas and they are great. For those of you who can''t afford a true coil-over system then these are the ones for you. I suggest you change your shocks/struts as well since the spring rates are a lot stiffer than conventional aftermarcket springs; 350 lbs. in the front and 500 lbs. in the rear (I think). If you don''t change your shocks you''ll end up blowing them easily. These springs give you that race car feeling that keeps you glued to the road and expect to take turns a lot faster and harder.
