Strength:
Quick and easy adjustability and improved handling
Weakness:
Price is a little hefty. Ground Control coilovers were a great way to upgrade my suspension. No squeaks, nor tire rubbing with my coilovers. I have them paired with Tockico Shocks and the ride is very similar to stock and not excessively bouncy. Similar Products Used: None. Stock springs and struts. |

Constantly variable hide height (takes about hour for all four)trouble free, quiet, and you can slam your car for a weekend and return it to nearly stock for monday.
Weakness:
Anytime you modify a car there are sacrifices, ride height effects ride quality, ability to transverse speed bumps, park without scraping your front end, and pot holes! watch out! I had GC springs with Koni Yellow struts installed over a year ago. I have tried many ride heights, and I love them. I usally have the struts set firm and the ride height is about 2.0" down. I recently added a skunk camber kit and an spc for the rear. This made a terrific difference in the ride quality and overall handling. I highly recommend alignment correction, and proper wheel balance. I have never had any squeking problems even the first day! I have 17x7 wheels, 205/40s and I have no rubbing and my car rides great. Similar Products Used: Ground control springs, Koni yellow struts(adj), Skunk2 camber for front, SPC for rear, 17x7 enkei RS6, Toyo proxes T1-s |

Easily adjustable Significant Drop Better handling Very Stiff Ride! GC makes the best coil overs available for Civics. Minimal noise during the "break-in" period, but once you get through it, you won't hear a thing. Also be sure to get your car realigned after your coil overs are broken in. |

Ride quality is excellent and sporty but not overly stiff to beat you up It's really quite easy to adjust your ride height with only a jack and an allen wrench once the wheel is removed. Eibach springs among the best
Weakness:
Awkward and embarassing sounds may negatively affect car's resale value Daily spinning/catching/plonging may affect spring life Spring rotation has a tendency to affect steering making it pull one way or the other at different times, especially dangerous for precision corners I have these paired with Koni Sports, and after having had these on my car for about 2 weeks, I've come to realize that although the ride is good (slightly stiffer than stock), no one is ever going to want to buy a car that makes the noise these coil-overs are making on my car! It is completely unacceptable. Because the top of the Eibach spring rides on a bearing and the bottom is not physically affixed to the adjustable perch, the spring is free to rotate about the front strut assembly. As it does this, the lip of the spring catches and loads pressure into the spring until it breaks loose to spin causing an excessive and embarassing "plong" noise that is audible outside the car. Not only is there a noise, but also the pressure in the spring on one side or another will force the car to pull strongly to the opposite side, making cornerning a difficult, if not scary proposition. If the pressure is released in the middle of the corner with the "plong" sound, I'll find I'm overcorrecting so much that it can be very dangerous, and I'll have to correct evasively. Unless it's absolutely necessary to be able to adjust your ride height frequently, I'd recommend a straight set of lowering springs of a good quality such as H&R's, Eibach's, or Tein's. Easy installation. Easily adjusted. Uses Eibach springs. Rides like factory stock with stock springs, even when lowered to the max.
Weakness:
Can be a little expensive ($330 total) When you think of adjustable springs think of Ground Control. Similar Products Used: VIS Racing VSpecII coilovers (recieve wrong set and was too bouncy, but VIS coilovers are really good...almost like ground control) |

Squeak, squeal, creak, annoying, ghetto design. I had Eibach Pro-Kit springs and Tokico blue (non-adjustable) struts on my car for about 2 years before they went bad. After having done plenty of research for the best suspension setup for my car, I decided to try Ground Control coilovers and Koni sports struts (yellow, adjustable). I thought I wouldn't have to worry about my suspension for a long, long time. But was I wrong. The GC coilovers squeak, squeal, creak like crazy. I'm horrified because they make my car sound like some cheap-@ss ghetto ride. The Koni is supposed to be one of the best quality brand on the market. But all of my struts have seemed to blow, thanks to the lousy GC coilovers. I wanted the height adjustability feature because I want to lower my car in the summer and raise it in the winter, thus I went with Ground Control coilovers and Koni struts. Looks like I'm gonna have to go back again to lowering springs (Eibach Pro-Kit) and good struts (maybe Tokico Illuminas this time). Stay away from Ground Control coilovers. Save your money and go with a true coilover system (B+G, JIC, H&R, HKS, Apex'i, etc.) Similar Products Used: Eibach Pro-Kit (which is much, much better). |

Good ride - improved cornering.
Weakness:
Embarassing and annoying noise. Pulled steering out of alignment. As soon as I had these put on my RSX, the installer told me that coil-overs required break-in time. He said they would make noise during this time. The "Noise" went far beyond what was expected. The spring would stick to the strut tower and then pop back into place after turning the wheel -this would pull my alignment out every time. The manufacturer said the installer left off a bearing - but I had a second opinion from another installer and this was not the case. The installer suggested I get performance shocks and it will go away - but Tokico does not make anything for my car yet. Additionally, ground-control advertises to be used with stock shocks. I had them removed and installed the Eibach pro-kit. It is wonderful! It didn't drop it as much in the front, but the ride is similar. Similar Products Used: stock, Eibach Pro-kit. I recommend the Pro-kit. It rides as smooth as stock - only lower and a little firmer. After reading other reviews, it appears that the RSX kit is the only one that sucks. |

If you use your factory shocks they will bounce but not a whole lot but you will fit it and you will need to get after market shocks like Tokico Blue Performance for Satisfactory I Have Ground Control Coilovers with Tokico Blue shocks and they are a #1 setup together my ride is stiff and rides smooth. I have mines adjust on ring count 8 on front and 11 on rear and I can corner better and bumps in the road it goes right over as if it was factory height so I highly recommend GC and Tokico Blue shocks a A++++++ Similar Products Used: Nothing compares to GC Coilover There no#1 by themselves |

one of the best designed Purches. Can order custom spring rates. Easy Adjustments.
Weakness:
coating on springs started to chip after a few months. Had them recoated at the Eibach Factory here in Germany. My first set of springs and shocks were Eibach Sprotlines and Tokiko Blues. This was a nice set up untill I got to Germany. The Auto Bahn deamed this setup inadequate. At speeds of over 120 MPH this set up was entirely to soft and the shocks didn't offer enough dampening while going through undulations and bumps on the Auto Bahn. I also drove with this setup at the Nurburgring (The Northern Loop). Die hard autocrossers should know about this track. It's a 22 kilometer track that is open to the public. With over 100 turns this track is awsome!!!. Lots of straight aways(the longes being about 3/4 of a mile), off camber turns, S curv, and there are even two 180 degree turns that are banked about 35 degrees. You name it this track has it At this track you'll see Porche GT3'S, Ferraries, All the type R'S to include the Civic and Accords, and not to mention the Integra and ofcourse plenty of M3's and M5'S. Ok back to the Ground controls. They were a vast improvement over the sportlines. I ordered custom rates because of the racing i do at the track. They are slightly stiffer than the street package. Combined with the KYB AGX'S. This was a decent setup for the Nurburgring. I would actually say the KYB's aren't stiff enough..go with gab or knoi. All in all Ive at 10 Euro a lap I have now completed over 50 laps it the past two months. The Ground controls have held up quite well. Similar Products Used: NONE |

rocking and bouncing going over bumps and dips so far, i'm dissapointed with the ground controls. my old setup with my H&R Sport springs and my tockico illuminas were better. the overall ride of the gc's are good, nice and stiff (shocks set on 5), good enough to meet most people's expectations i suppose. driving over bumps and dips is the biggest factor that i find annoying. my car wobbles or seasaws from front to back after going over bumps or dips. and they also make a deep squeaking noise. the install was perfect because i watched the mechanic during the entire process. people should just go for a full coilover system when modding their suspension.
