I spent a long time going over bills and receipts with this van. They had taken good care of it and it still runs very well at 170,000KM. THey have changed and alternator and thats about it. THe interior is still mint, the body still has no rust, and it is still smooth. Folsom Bounce House Rental Weakness:

Hyundai Elantra GT1
Strength:
As mentioned earlier, the tire is very aggressive looking, reassuring the driver through it's carefully inserted grooves that this tire was born for dry pavement while having the inborn ability to slice through rain as though the tire would never dream of hydroplaning. The rubber compound is soft, which gives a low profile tire the deceiving feel of having more rubber between the rim and the road. The A520 also maximizes the grip, or handling ability of whatever car it is mounted to, which is a great safety feature. The Yokohama A520 is by no means an inexpensive tire, yet compared to other products, you cannot find a better tire for the dollar, you really do "get what you pay for" with the Yokohama A520!
Weakness:
The soft rubber compound will not have the same tread life as other less expensive, less satisfying tires. After 1 year of ownership in my new Elantra GT1, I decided it was time for a set of upgraded rims and tires. The garage owner suggested a set of Yok's, and we settled on the A520's. I have to admit, since experiencing the Yokohama A520's I can't imagine why anyone would choose another product. I read the other reviews and will state that I haven't noticed the excessive road noise others have commented on, but I agree with their positive comments regarding ride quality, handling, and not to forget the esthetics of the tire (very aggressive). I will be looking forward to purchasing a set of Yokohama's for each of the many vehicles I will purchase before the authorities strip my driver's license from my hands. I was extremely disappointed with the wet and dry performance of the tire which can be described as hard and unforgiving. I would also describe |

Weakness:
road noise, small price to pay for the performance these tires offer. These tires are quite argueably the best tires I have used. They have immense grip, I can throw my car into the corner. These tires are responsive. You can feel when they are at thier limit, but they don''t even complain they never squeal. Wet traction is to be expected of this type of tire, which is good. Snow traction is terrible, but snow is not the function of these tires. Road noise is high, small price to pay for the performance they offer. Just turn the radio up, and you cannot even notice the noise.Bottom line if you want performance step up to these babies, If road noise is going to bother you then performance tires aren''t for you. Ultra Extreme GRIP!!!
Weakness:
Payoff for short life span. My Yoks were 205/40''''s mounted on 17" Tenzo Shuz. I only had the opportunity to test them for about a week until a kid hit me making a U-turn in a residential without looking or signaling. But with the short amount of time I did spend with them I did very much enjoy. Probably the most influential component in handling is the tires and I must say these made a tremendous impact on my handling prowress. They are confidence inspiring. My car also had sprint springs with stock shocks but, the car felt very grippy. It''''s even hard to push these tires to their limits of adhesion. These tires probably won''''t last long though as they have a very soft compound and a low treadwear rating. You can even did your fingernails into these things. As for the aforementioned noise, I didn''''t even notice. Similar Products Used: Stock. |

Hook up, ultimate grip, and break away
Weakness:
loud, tractability on the street and tire life! I have a 95 Integra GS-R with a drag gen 2 turbo kit and really like the A520s. They hook up pretty well at the track and have a very smooth and predictable break away but the tires just have horrible tire life. I am only getting 7000 miles on the average. Maybe I should step up to a more expensive tire. Similar Products Used: None |
