weak side wall will disintegrate rapidly if underinflated n cornered alot the tire came as OEMS with my car 205/40/r17...very good for lateral acceleration and cornering...proper inflation is important for this tire as side wall isint as strong as expected...long lasting thread and excelent on wet...thread wear is very good...overall a high recommend Similar Products Used: almost all leading brands |

Strength:
Great dry and wet traction especially on the GSR - some tires do not do well on some cars for whatever reason. My SP900 Dunlops went well with the GSR also.
Weakness:
wear and noise To the person who said that the OEM Michelins were better??? Whew. That is hard for me to understand especially going from an all season (compromised) tire to a high performance tire). I went to a plus zero Z rated over the all season V rated MIch's since the RE730's did not come in the OEM size. The Michelins spun in straight line acceleration in the wet, the Potenzas did not! THe RE730's outhandled the OEMs in every category except mileage(I did not drive them in snow) and noise. I probably could have rotated them more often. They became noisy after wear but it was mostly noticable at 30 - 45 mph. I had them up to over 100 and they were very stable. Perhaps the air pressure on the other guys GSR was not set correctly. I went up from 35 front 33 rear to 37 front 35 rear and it helped turn in. HAndlimg of the car improved over OEM's considerably. Similar Products Used: MIch XGT V4 Dunlop SP9000 |

Cornering, Wet & Dry sure-footedness.
Weakness:
Size dimensions are not accurate. I bought the P7000s partially to get away from the OEM Michelins that offer a very short tread life and also I had tried the P7000 SS on my 89’ Formula 350 and loved the performance. So far so good; the Pirellis are sure footed, solid performance in the rain, and takes corners without a squeal. The tires look good though I would have bought them even if the didn’t. I have only one beef with the tires (with the present set as well as the set on my Formula); is that they are not as wide as they claim to be; another reviewer here has noticed the same. That aside, the Pirelli is a very good performer and I’m pleased with it. Similar Products Used: GoodYear Gatorback; Michelin XGT (I would never recommend Michelin because of the VERY short wear life). |

Strength:
wet and dry handling, good ride.
Weakness:
none. Not a snow tire (obviously) Excellent performance tire. Good solid grip in wet or dry. Excellent ride with the 205/55x15 tire on my 86 SAAB 9000 Turbo. What particularly impresses is the way the tire follows the contour of the road giving predictable handling in any conditions. Do not use this tire in snow! Strength:
Excellent overall handling. Never a problem in the wet even when pushing it.
Weakness:
I've gotten barely 12K miles out of them. Very noisy. Hard to find. I will probably buy the P7000 Supersport next. The P7000-Summer just wears too quickly. That said, is it a great overall tire. If you want better performance out of your sport-sedan, including worry-free wet handling, these are for you. Similar Products Used: The P7000-Summer is significantly better than the P600 or P7-Z. |

Strength:
Extraordinary grip in both wet and dry conditions.
Weakness:
Noisy. This is an overall great tire! Superior wet and dry handling even when pushing the envelope. Super grippy tread design, allows for quick and responsive manuvering. Difference from OEM tires is night and day! Driving in the rain used to make me nervouse with my OEM tires, but the Pirelli P7000's have proved to cut through water with extraordinary grip. Other than the slight noisiness (due in part to the size of the tires), I have absolutely no complaints. Although I have been told that these tires wear quickly, I have only had mine for a few weeks, and have yet to experience such claims. I would definately recommend these tires to anyone who wants more control and responsiveness from their tires in both wet and dry road conditions. Weakness:
Tread Wear Life, Noise All around good tire, they hook to the road in wet, dry and cold weather conditions. Can live with the bit of road noise they create but the thread life is too short, especially if used on high mileage vechicle. I put two new P7000s on the rear, with two half worn Dunlop 8000s front. The Pirelli 7000s are almost ready to be replaced along with the Dunlops even though they are on the rear of a front wheel drive. I would purchase again if I had the money to burn. Strength:
Great cornering and braking traction, good wet traction, good wear, and affordable price.
Weakness:
A bit on the noisy side, but not annoying. 215/45/16 size tire used on '89 Audi 90 Quattro. About $120 per tire. I highly recommend them to those seeking a high performance tire at a touring tire price. Similar Products Used: None |

Replaced my Bridgestone tires with the Pirellis and loved the handling characteristics of these tires. Low resistance that make turning so much easier. Very quiet on the freeway and resist hydroplaning in rainy weather.
Weakness:
Somewhat unsure of in the snow. Good tire for the price. Paid about $55 at a name brand store on sale. Have about 30,000 miles and no problems with them. Would purchase again. Similar Products Used: Bridgestone, Yokohama |
