Strength:

Excellent grip. Noticeable increase in wet and dry traction. Nice wide footprint.

Weakness:

Slightly noisy.

I bought these tires with a set of Arelli Assassyn 17-inch wheels, they are P225/40ZR17. Upgrading to bigger, wider wheels and these tires was night and day from the stock smaller rims/tires. Great handling with reasonable wear. I've had mine on for 8000+ and I think they'll go for another 20k, despite other reviews on here. Unless you are in the habit of squalling them at every red light, I think they last pretty well.

Strength:

Great Looking tire, tread design,(footprint)as well as sidewall. Superb handling wet or dry! I've put this tire to the test on numerous occasions. On my Lexus overall handling is improved. On my Cobra ditto! Absolute bargain for Ultra High Performance tire in these larger 17 & 18in. sizes!

Weakness:

A little loud. But hey, what do you expect from the largest contact patch tire on the market?

When you start to deal with tires in the 255/40/17&18in. sizes, you're dealing with an average cost of $230.00 a tire! That is an investment to say the least! Smaller sizes,(16in. & lower) do not present the challenges and desires of Ultra High Performance and therefore in my opinion are hard to compare.

Strength:

Contact and grip to the road is good, excellent handling...when its not raining.

Weakness:

A little louder than what I expected for a top of the line tire, the ride is decent, and they look too bulky for me.

I got the NT555's with a package deal from ABC Wheel (NEVER EVER deal with those guys!) and they sent me 225/40-18's instead of the 215/35-18's like I asked. Considering I only paid about $400 for the tires thats really good, but the 40's are too big for me. I must admit, they have saved me from a few curb scratches though! I still believe the NT555's are one of the best tires made, just make sure you get the size you want!

Strength:

Good handling, good ride, grip the road quite well

Weakness:

Strength during the rain isn't the greatest, so don't go looking for puddles unless you like hydroing.

Paid bout 180 a piece, which is average for tires that are 225/40 on 18inch rims. Recomend, yah i'll buy them in a couple of months...seeing that these kinda tires only last about 15000 to 20000 miles depending on the way you drive.

Model Reviewed: 2000 Nissan Maxima SE

Strength:

Great dry handling, very good wet handling. Corners extremely well. Road noise is low. 235/45-17 & 245/45-17 spe'd to mount on a 7" rim.

Weakness:

None

The Potenza RE-92 is one of the worst tires I've ever had on a vehicle. I had to find a replacement that would fit on the 7" wide rim that comes stock on the Maxima SE. The Nitto 555 is a very good tire for the money.

Strength:

I'll get back to you.

Weakness:

Construction quality is crap, turn in is horrible, and lateral grip is a joke. Please do not attempt to turn in a car equipped with these tires. If you have a lowrider, that you just cruise in, without doing anything that approaches the realm of entertainment, I reccomend these tires. By the way mine are 235/40/18. Oh wow they suck.

Worst tires I have ever used.
