Strength:
quiet, smooth, long-lasting, great handling
Weakness:
not cheap the most expensive tire is also the best! Great handling wet or dry, especially for the Explorer. These are the only tires I buy for all my vehicles. Last set of tires, I got over 100k miles. Just turned over 200k & on my third set of Michelins. Great Value. |

Strength:
Durability, general handling I own a Jeep and a Lexus and, while I love my Jeep, jeeps are notorious for having alignment and adjustment problems (I've owned four jeeps, from 2dr/4dr wranglers to cherokee and grand cherokee). Jeeps are hard on tires and are generally uncomfortable rides. So, I sympathize with the reviewers on here who complain. But anyone who puts a "quality" tire on a Jeep is fooling themselves and hasn't done their vehicle research well. On the other hand, my Lexus responds well to the Michelin MXV4 S8s and now the Michelin Latitudes. It is a luxury/performance car, for which these luxury/performance tires are made. They are well designed for the supportive suspension system and shock-absorption qualities of the Lexus frame/chassis system. On my Lexus, the Latitudes really shine. Their stiffness complements the shock system well, and the car's quiet interior means that any tire road noise is irrelevant (contrast with my jeep, whose interior is by far the noisiest environment i've ever traveled in!). My cell phone conversations via Bluetooth built into the Lexus do not pick up any background/outside noise from the tires or road. Bottom line, IF you drive a luxury/well-built touring sedan, the Latitudes are probably the ideal tire. If you drive a Jeep, do what i did and buy 37" KM2s, and resign yourself to the fact that on-board conversations will never happen -- nor will a smooth, quiet ride or long tire wear! that's not what jeeps were designed for -- they're for off-road fun and lousy gas mileage! |

Strength:
Quiet, cornering, wet weather
Weakness:
Non yet Cost, Canadian funds. What a difference than the continentals that were on the Rover. I may have paid a little more from my mechanic but that was "all in" with just disposal fees. I would recommend these tires. Maybe the Jeep that the negative review was represented, was, well, um, a jeep. Enough said. |

Michelin Latitude Tour
Strength:
Quiet, very good wet and dry traction, great gas mileage and hndling. Best OEM tire I've ever experienced.
Weakness:
None OEM tires on the 2010 Escape. Truly EXCEPTIONAL when compared to the OEM tires on the 3 Toyotas, 2 Acuras, and 1 Infiniti I have owned over thpast 30 years. |

Michelin Lattitude HP Tire
Strength:
Holds air.
Weakness:
Really really poor traction in snow. In dry conditions, they are very "twitchy", in that they follow the grooves cut in the roadway surface. Not a very quiet tire, much louder then the OEM tires. We installed these tires on our 2004 Jeep Cherokee because we had good luck with other Michelin tires in snow conditions. These tires are to say the least, very disappointing. The wear is also not what we expected, with 4/32 of tread left(aprox 60% worn) after 30K miles. Would not buy them or another Michelin tire again. |

Strength:
great handling, quiet
Weakness:
pricey the tires are great, as soon as they were put on the care, we noticed the van had greater stability and handling around turns. Quiet ride, smooth. We have had so many brands of tires and always come back to michelin despite the price tag. |

NOISY
Weakness:
NOISY STAY AWAY FROM THESE TIRES!!!!!!These tires were great at the start(quiet), and now with no unusual wear they have began increasingly noisy, we called Michelin and they offered us a 25% credit toward the purchase of a new set, these tires only have 21,000 miles on them with 4/32 tread worn off, which leaves 7/32 tread. That offer was insulting, they are supposed to have the best tires on the market, and maybe so, unless you have an issue, then they really don't concern themselves with help the customer. I will never recommend Michelin as a tire brand again. |

Strength:
Long life, great performance, great service and a manufacturer that has a warranty for the product and stands behind it.
Weakness:
None to mention. Looking forward to getting new tires when the time comes. I could have paid over $1,000.00 for these tires at Sears and was very happy to find them at Costco for such a huge savings. We have three vehicles, two Toyotas and a Porsche. All of the cars have Michelins on them and the RAV just go the new Latitude Tours. We live in the country and have a mix of weather from rain, snow to dry. Gravel roads to boot. The Michelins are the best tires whether for all of these vehicles. We have never had any problems with the tires and will never get another brand. I read another review on this site that didn't have much good to say for the tire, but our experience has been completely the opposite. |
