Strength:

I drive an F250 Crew Cap 4X4 with 115K miles. I use the 285/75R16. The tires look really nice on the truck. But most of us need a tire for more than its looks.

Weakness:

Apart from what I mentioned above concerning quality, the road noise is pretty high.

Tread goes pretty quickly.

See link shown here for information regarding tire quality and more importantly about Cooper Tire company integrity.

I live in hot South Texas on a ranch. I daily drive 2 miles on dirt road and 40 miles on highway. The weather is hot and dry.

After only about 18K miles had one tire with terrible tread pull. Had to replace two tires because of tread design change. Now, less than a year later, I have second tire with the same issue of tread pull.

To add injury to insult, I also have another tire with a separated belt and resulting big bubble. Clearly a very faulty tire. Cooper won't honor warranty because I had to patch the tire for a mesquite thorn puncture.

Even though I have a few thousand miles of treadwear left, i won't pursue warranty fight because I don't want the Cooper Tires anyway. I have found them to be of extremely poor quality. 3 bad tires out of 6 tires purchased isn't a record I want to continue with.

I feel more strongly about letting you know that the tires aren't all 5 stars like other reviewers claim. These are the worst tires I have ever experienced.

I've used the stock Firestone tires but changed them quickly because I need something with more plies for thorn puncture resistance. Switched to Goodyear and then switched to Cooper because it was recommened as a good quality tire for a reasonable price (it wasn't the cheapest). When I researched it, I found that many reviewers gave it 4 and 5 stars. My experience has been and is the complete opposite. Caveat Emptor!!!

Weakness:

Tread wear.

Great tire if you want less than 20,000 miles of use. When tred was still good, the tire performed great. However, I only got 22,000 miles out of the tires

Strength:

Wonderful control and grip, rain or shine, highway or dirt, loaded or not. And quiet on the highway. Tremendous value.

Weakness:

None so far. If their winter performance is as good as I suspect, they may be the best ever.

This Truck originally came with very poor performing Firestones (Widerness HT). At the recommendation of my mechanic (who services many off roaders) I switched to Cooper Discoverers. These performed quite well in all conditions (and I mean all conditions), but wore extraordinarily fast. Gone after about 9K. After that, there was an apology, and the recommendation was to switch to the improved model: the A/T, as the previous version had been discontinued (for good reason). These Disco A/T's may be the best I ever experienced. I immediately set off for a trip to northern New Hampshire and Maine with a big load and logging roads in my sights. These tires were just superb. Once they broke in and got over some awesome squirming, they settled into some serious business. In three weeks I put them through everything but snow. High speed, rough terrain, HEAVY rain, and big loads. Never had experienced anything better, and after a couple of 1000 miles they still look new. Very quiet. Beautiful response. Incredible grip....on anything. I can't wait for snow.

Old version of Cooper Discoverer (very good performers, but wore poorly and were noisy). Firestone Wilderness HT (avoid/OEM).

Tread life quietness traction

Weakness:

None to think of

I bought the truck used with 60,000 miles and immediately got rid of the Michelins that were on it. They produced lots of road noise as well as poor wet weather traction. Purchased a set of Cooper Discoverer A/T's I now have 135,000 on the truck and I still have distance to go to get to the tread indicators. These tires have been quiet and excellent in inclement weather including snow. Never buy a different set of truck tires again.

Strength:

Great treadlife, low noise, good handling, great ride, nice looks on truck.

Weakness:

Cannot think of any

The best Tires I have ever owned, hands down. I noticed a smoother ride in my Ram 2500HD 4x4 as soon as I had these put on. I have put 16000 miles on these now, and they have excellent tread left. I will never buy another set of tires. I have never been stuck. I rarely need 4x4. I do not hear the tires after about 3000 miles. I constantly run 80PSI in rears, and my truck still rides nice. The truck came with Firestone AT's on it, and I hated the ride, so did my wife.

Strength:

Good traction in rain, snow, mud. They shine is mud. They have good self cleaning tread.

Weakness:

Would be better with side lugs.

I have had these tires for about 2 years and the tread is probably half gone. I probably have 40k miles on them. The thing about these tires is that they rock in mud for an all-terrain tire. This tire is an all around good tire for the price. If you want a tire that is good on pavement, and you go off-road once a week or more, get this.

Strength:

road handling, improved steering control and a smooth ride for a A/T on a 4X4

Weakness:

Break in sqirm on the deeper tread

Just purchased Cooper Discoverer A/T 235/75R15. Immediately noticed an improve- ment in ride for the better as they smooth out the bumps and manhole covers. Also noticed improved handling in the steering and road holding ability. My wife also noticed the improved ride in that the tires have reduced jarring of the 4X4 rougher ride and made it a more comfortable ride for her. The 14/32 tread depth a touch of squirm for the moment until their broken in and there is a slight tire whine at highway speeds but not at all irritating. The whine is only heard, it is not felt. That too will dim- inish in a couple months. Looking forward to winter driving with these tires.

Strength:

smooth ride, good control

Weakness:

subtle highway speed road whine

Just purchased Cooper Discoverer A/T 235/75R15. All aftermarket tires on our vehicles have been Coopers.Excellent results. The Discoverer A/T have made a immediate difference in better handling and smoothing out the bumps on pavement. The new 14/32 tread create a bit of squirm but that will wear off as tire breaks in. There is a ever so slight whine at highway speeds but it is subtle and not irritating. My wife who is not impressed with the truck ride of my 88 Blazer 4X4 noticed the difference in ride right away it being much smoother than the passenger tires we had on before. As Martha would say "That''s a good thing". Looking forward to winter and some trail work with these tires.

Good tire, good in snow, rain and suprizingly good traction in mud. They might not look very mean but they show it in there performance. They have very good tire wear. I got 17,000 miles on them and can't see a hint of wear on them. Quiet on road and highway also.
