Audi A4 1.8T
Strength:
Good Handling in dry, wet and snow. Tread pattern looks cool
Weakness:
expensive, loud, poor treadlife I have mixed reviews. When I first put these on my A4, they were awesome. They looked pretty cool and handled real well. I live in Upstate NY and they even performed great in the snow. The problems started after about 15,000 miles of use. They were ungodly loud and started to wear out. I even had a mechanic tell me I needed new wheel bearings, because the tires couldn't possibly be making all that noise. I had one bearing replaced and it corrected a quarter of the noise problem. By that time, after 24,000 miles, these tires were shot, so I just had them replaced with Continental touring tires. Needless to say my car is now deathly silent. No new bearings for me. Also, for Cooper Tires, which I always thought of as a cheaper replacement tire, they were very expensive. The local dealer that I bought them from quoted me 667.00 to have them replaced. Instead I special ordered the tires I wanted from Walmart for 400.00. I would never but these tires again. For the money, there are plenty of better options out there. Strength:
Quiet, smooth ride, even at speeds over 100MPH. Handling.
Weakness:
Made in England. (Not really a weakness, more of a surprise) The best tire from Cooper isnt made in the United States. These tires are awesome. Smooth and quiet. I was completely surprised when I drove my car after having these tires put on. I went from 225/60HR16 to 245/50ZR16 and expected more noise and and rougher ride. It feels like I am driving a different car. Strength:
Lots of grip on dry and wet. Long lasting tread.
Weakness:
none at all The only reason I got these tires was because I knew a guy that could get them for me cheap. But regardless of how much I paid, these tires are really good. Super grip on dry and wet and they last a long time. I used to have the Good Year RSA tires and they SUCKED!! and they actually cost more than the Coopers. My car is done up, almost 100hp more than the stock 210hp it came with so these tires are up to the task to keep my car on the ground. This is a tire definately worth grabbing! Strength:
Very responsive, very stable and excellent traction in most weather conditions. Long lasting
Weakness:
does not look flashy This is very good tire for the price. In Europe people are very interested in high quality tires and this is certainly a tire that fits well in the European market. I buy these tires after reading in a French performance magazine saying these tires score better than Michelin and Continental. When I put these tires on my car, I right away noticed how much more responsive the car is, even driving in the cold climate these tires stick to the road very good. These tires feel very stable and 250km/h and is great for going into turns at over 200km/h. But my car has quattro so I would not try this with 2 wheel drive cars. These tires last me long also. Here in Germany people are not impressed with the low quality of American products but this is on product that I find very impressive and of high quality. Now if you could only make higher quality cars! Similar Products Used: Continental, Michelin |

Nice looking tread, plenty of traction on wet and dry conditions
Weakness:
none I got these tires based on what I read here from other consumers and I gotta say they were right! Lots of cornering grip and great wet traction. With these tires, I have had my best 1/4 mile results ever, 11.787 seconds!! This is the first North American made product that actually impressed me! When these tires wear out, I just might get me another set Similar Products Used: Bridgestone SO2, Fulda Extremo, Yokohama Nexus |
