Strength:

--Excellent price per tire
--Good treadwear
--Relatively quiet

Weakness:

--They've been replaced by the FK-452, which is about $20 more per tire.

Been running them for about 18 months on my 2005 Scion tC. Superb tire, cannot be beat at the pricepoint. At $107-110 each for the 245/40-17s, there is simply no competition.

Tires behave predictably, and give you a little bit of notice before they break away.

I'm not looking forward to when they wear out, as they've been discontinued. I expect at least 25k miles out of the set.

Dry and Wet grip.

Weakness:

They seem a little soft in the turns but have held on so far.

I can't believe all of the reviews I'm reading about no wet or dry grip! Maybe these guys need a wider tire. I'm running 275/40-18 on the rear. With these tires I can finally take off in the rain with out starting in 2nd gear! The dry grip seems pretty good also. A much improved ride over the Goodyear EMT's

everything else

I agree with the one other review who canned these tyres. The Alfa is only 150BHP but there's NO WAY you can get started on a wet road with a slight incline without getting sideways. And driving in wet weather they just feel downright unsafe (over steer, drifting, etc). They're o.k. in the dry, but anyone can make a tyre stick in dry conditions. The stock 13" Michelins that were on the car leave them for dead.

Wet traction just OK Rears wore to the limit in 9000 miles

Got these tyres as I was a bit short of cash and needed 4 at the same time. I have to say for the money they are pretty good. Very grippy, especially in warm, dry conditions. I can't honestly say I've found the limit on them on many occassions. No problems under heavy braking. Tendency to break free and cause the car to fishtail with very aggressive starts, but apart from that no problem. Not quite as confidence inspiring in the wet, but OK. Diabolical in snow!! Oh my rear tyres wore out after just 9K miles but I do give them a hard time. Not as good as Goodyear F1 GSD3 but a lot cheaper.

Price, wear rate, braking

Weakness:

Handling is not as good as the very best brands.

I have found the Falken tyre to be very good but not excellent. Given that you are paying much much less then the big names, I think a slight reduction in handling is a small price to pay. My car kicks out 321bhp so normally shreds tyres but these ones have been tough and despite 10k miles they still have plenty of tread on them. Well worthy buying if you want to save money and shredded tyres. Very good value. I will be replacing my 245/40 rear tyres with them soon, to match the front ones.

Strength:

Good grip in DRY and WET. Price is very plesant of 100 per tire give or take. Nice thread design. Great in Rain storms.

Weakness:

Noisy at first until you break them in ~1000 miles. Like warm weather or until you warm them up, otherwise tend to get loose. Not great on slightly wet pavement... car drifts in turns. Seem to wear out when you do a lot of aggressive driving.

After doing lots of searching for a good tire to go on my 17in wheels, I narrowed my choice down to FALKEN FK-451. I have to say these tires are good. Not great but good. Coming from stock Bridgestone Potenzas RE92...which i might add are COMPLETLY HORRIBLE on dry and wet. I was happy to swtich to these. My style of driving is none aggressive for the most part since i live in NYC and traffic is a Biatch. But when i do open up the car, the tires get warmed up and the grip is great. --DRY-- I should mention that to get the full potential of the tire...you should warm them up, otherwise...they can get away from you. They become sticky very fast and grip much better. breaking and acceleration is good. These do have a limit and you just have to know when not to push them. --WET-- on the wet surface in a rain storm these are great. stoping from 40mph is great. the car just digs into the ground. My previous Bridgestone RE92 ...sucked. Made me skid out all the time when braking. These on the other hand are great in rain storms. However, when the road is just slightly wet(no rian)... they are not as great as i thought. The car slides out and i cant keep it under control. These tires dont like cold weather...they are not as grippy in turn on cold weather. Snow ... well lets just say you dont wanna be driving with them in the snow. I think its the same as having slicks. I got caught in a snow storm of 4in. and i barely could control the car.

Havent used any other tires, but i would like to switch to something else. These are good and i would buy them again but for the sake of testing, i would like to try different tires next time.

Strength:

If your not moving, they stick to the road like gum and look really sweet doing so.

Weakness:

No grip. No life. No way. On a side note: Don't even try to drive in snow. You will crash and die. We all know that these are street/summer tires. But I warn you, if it ever turns out that you have to drive in the snow, hitch a ride. It's safer.

I purchased these tires to replace 2 rear Yokohama A520s, which were discontinued. However, I would trade my treadless A520s back for these ridiculous Falken tires in a milisecond. The grip is horendous. After reading all of the glowing reviews (not one bad, in fact), it leads me to believe that these people work for the Falken Tire Corporation. In my experience, when driving on perfectly dry ground, with no sand, dirt, or any other particle (nevermind water), there is no grip. At least my old A520s would bounce if I popped the clutch from stop; the Falkens spin and cause me to fishtail all over the stupid road. Sure they look cool, but who in God's name looks at the treads on your tire when your ON THE ROAD. That's some good eyesight there. Don't even get me started on wet traction. Let's just say I desperately avoid all uphill starts when it's raining. Three words: Buy something else. If you think these tires are good, you have no idea what's out there.

MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF GRIP! These tires are by far the best tire I've ever bought. Hands down. The price is right, the tread design is killer, disgusting amount of wet/dry grip
