Strength:

Smooth quiet ride, excellent cornering, good grip in wet and dry weather.

Weakness:

Nothing so far.

I got the 225/60/16 tires for around $105 installed. My car feels rock steady. Family loves the quiet, soft ride. Great tire for the price.

Michelin XGT V4. Excellent tires but horrible in wet weather and snow.

Strength:

Quiet, smooth riding, wet and dry grip

Weakness:

none yet except not a good chioce for the seriously aggressive driver

Excellent dry and wet grip. My car uses 205/50 15 but they were back ordered, so I put on 215/50 15's. These have to be the smoothest riding 50 series tires. Not an all out performance tire, but perfect for me because I'm no speed demon, I just like to cruise.

Strength:

Great tread design
excellent grip in wet
good traction in dry
very quiet and smooth on the highway

Weakness:

side walls are a little soft but other than that, nothing.

I just got these tires put on and they are excellent!! I replaced my the stock Firehawk GTA's (195/60R15 with 205/55ZR15)and its like I have a new car. Handling has improved and the car is much more responsive. I used to be able to chirp my stock tires going into third gear due to lack of traction. Now i can barely get the SP 5000's to chirp going into second. If your looking for a great all around tire, get these. These tires were brought to my attention by numerous tire companies and online reviews. Anybody who says "High speed lane changes, panic situations, and swift back road twisties are all seriously scary with these tires" needs to get there allignment checked. I was in a "panic" situation witht these tires and they stuck to the ground like glue. If your looking for a good performing, all-season tire, these are the tires to get.

Strength:

Excellent wet weather tire. Good grip in dry also. Excellent ride quality. I find it funny that some of the reviews are so poor for this tire. Tires perform differently depending on the vehicle, driving habits, etc.

Weakness:

Soft sidewalls

They work for me. Other members of Contour Enthusiast Group(www. contour.org) like them also.

Strength:

Excellent grip in the wet
Decent Dry Traction
Good ride, quiet

Weakness:

Tread noise during turns
Tread life (perhaps, AWD is eating them faster)
Marginal traction in 1-3" of snow (even w/AWD)

For an "all season, performance tire" these are a good bet. They provide decent response and are excellent in wet weather. However, I have learned that "all season performance" is an oxymoron. Not that I don't like these tires, I do, but my next step is dedicated winter tires and dedicated performance tires. If you want performance, stay away from all season. I agree with another review, that these particular tires probally should be classified as Grand Touring.

These are much better than the original Bridgestones, and the Toyo Proxes FZ4's (Scary in the wet). They also are more performance oriented than the D60 A2's. I recommend these tires for someone that needs wet, or occasional snow traction, but doen't want to invest in dedicated winter tires. They provide enough "sport" to make driving fun.

Strength:

The Dunlop SP 5000s ride quite comfortably and the cornering grip is very good. They are quiter than expected for a tire labeled as high performance.

Weakness:

I need to agree with the detractors...these are an all-season touring tire, not what what would normally be called a high performance tire.
The steering precision is very poor. You can feel and see the front end of the car laterally 'swaying' left to right and right to left on turns, even at moderate speed. The rear of vehicle feels as if its fishtailing. It would appear the side walls do flex more than a few inches, peak to peak.

If you drive on fast, straight, but rough roads, this is your tire. If you like to drive through the hills on 2-lane roads, as another review put it:
"..these tires are scary.." Definitley not recommended.

Good Year GAs came with the car new. Relative to the SP 5000s, they are much better for performance driving, but only in 55 or lower aspect ratios.

Strength:

GRIP GRIP GRIP Stickyness (too sticky for an all season tire), tread pattern, smoothness, looks aggressive

Weakness:

Hmm nothing so far maybe the side wall is alittle taller then what i expected

Well i just put these tires on 2 days ago and they are great. I dont know what some of these people are talking about on how the nose of the car is sloppy at steering and also the rear of the car. I say to those people, get your suspension checked allignment and bla bla, the way your car sway`s has nothing to do with a "brand new tire" worn out tire yes but not brand new, go get the tires checked if installed properly and also dont compare 95 dollar tires to max performance 125 dollar tires! Well i think these tires are alot better then the ones they replaced which was the Yokohama AVS. I`m not saying that the AVS was bad but these tires out grip them and i cant wait till it rains so i can try out the Dunlops. And the AVS wasnt feeling like a Max performance tire in the rain. Well i would recommend them to anyone with any car. Oh yeah and my tires are rated at ZR not H. My tire size is 205-50-15. Bang for the Buck.

Strength:

Nothing -- these tires are unbelievably disappointing. I might as well have slapped on some Firestones.

Weakness:

Horrible traction (I'm scared to change lanes). Now I feel like I'm driving a 1978 Malibu with bald tires...

The Chevron Garage jacked up the price to have them ordered in (of course), so I ended up paying $150/tire. I would NEVER recommend these tires to anyone.

Dunlop SP 9000's are by far better tires in rain or sun in EVERY aspect. They are worth every penny extra and the extra time it takes to order them.

Strength:

Excellent dry and wet traction, very quiet ride. Predictable handling. Reasonably priced with performance far better than a lot of more expensive tires from Michelin...such as the MXV4 that came with my car.

Weakness:

Weaknesses, the only I can think of is this tire has too much strength.

If you are in a market for a 4 seasons performance tire, this is it. By the way, these Dunlop tires are made in Japan.

Michelin MXV4 & XGTV4, if you think these Michelin tires are 4 seasons, pepare to run into accident with these tires on your car when wet or just a bit of snow on the road.

Strength:

This tire is fairly priced, has a good treadwear rating, and is pretty soft/sticky for an all season. It works pretty good in the rain.

Weakness:

Soft sidewalls!!!!! High speed lane changes, panic situations, and swift back road twisties are all seriously scary with these tires. Even bumping up the air pressure to 50 psi (the max pressure) did not help. They actually seem to work better with about 35 psi in them but still squirm around a lot.

I paid about $90 bucks a tire for a 205/55 ZR15 at a local tire shop, but you can get them from the usual discount sources for a little bit cheaper. They are NOT ultra-high performance tires, no matter what Dunlop claims. They are all season TOURING tires, complete with soft sidewalls and a silky smooth ride. The performance of these tires is seriously disappointing.

Similar Products Used:

These tires cannot hold a candle to any of the great tires Dunlop has made in recent history like the W-10, D40M2 (an old but great tire), and SP4000. They are decent all season touring tires, comparable to the Goodyear Eagle GA and BFG Euro T/A.
