I have never felt so ripped off. I have also never had a company lie so many times to me and use scam tactics like they did. Let's just say I spend several hundred dollars extra because of these people and they still treated my like crap. OVOID BUDGET!!! Don't be a victim like us.

They are horrible. I got a full size car through priceline.com, when I got there they offered me Impala, I asked for something more fuel efficient, they offered me Buick Lacrosse, and I asked if there will be extra charge. They said there is no extra charge, when we returned the car they charged me $7 more, and charged me $50 dollars for recovery fee. I told them that you mentioned there is no extra charge, they said we lied, but you should not sign the contract!!!! they lied in my face and charged me $92 dollars extra, do not deal with budget

I just want to warn potential Budget customers that Budget in Grand Prairie texas runs scams.Budget agents will lie straight to your face. And if they make a mistake, their customer service will not help you. They are charging me $125.00 for vacuum the car I rent for 1 week while my car was getting fix. They told me that the car need special detailing because they found hair on the car seat. I will never renta a car from Budget again. There customer service is bad and they talk down to you like you are a crazy. Don't use them unlessI you like uncertainty and to be charged for things you never asked one month after you return the car . I 've never seen people do business worst than the Budget employees at Grand Prairie texas

Never ever rent a car from this one in Athens, GA. Total amount for a week was about 400 $ for a week including fully covered insurance however they could not manage to take this amount from my credit card and took about 2130 $!!! Moreover, the lady was closing the office and rejected to discuss her mistake and kick us out of the office! The problem was the misplacement of a point in the calculation that instead of 173,9 $ she wrote 1739 $. She was so rude and did not even listen to us. Stay away from this office and this lady who cannot make calculations. You can left the office with a bank loan of over 2000$ and she can just lock the office and leave!

Car was fine

I've had to be firm and say no before, but the agent at the Tampa Airport Budget counter was tenacious. He started out by trying to befriend me, telling me about nice restaurants to go to in St. Pete and where his family goes for its reunion every year. Smiles and heh-hehs aplenty. I didn't even reply, just sort of watched him talk, thinking "why is he talking so fast, so much? why are his hands shaky? why doesn't he just finish the transaction??" After all, I had paid in advance.

Then he started in on the upsell.

Three times I said "I'd just like the car I already paid for" after he tried to sell me a more expensive car. He then started in on the extra insurance. I said at least three times "I'm declining the additional insurance." Any ordinary person would have noted my irritation and given up, but this guy just kept going. We finally got that settled, so he started trying to sell me gas. I think I managed to get through that hurdle, too, but am checking my credit card bill daily now. At the end of the ordeal, I said "I want to be sure you have not made any additional charges to my credit card." The guy thought he was pretty funny when he said he had added on a tip for himself. Here's my tip: use another company. Your time and emotional energy is worth whatever savings you might have gotten.

Used to be a loyal customer but no more. After booking a car online for 27 days, not only did the Cancun office not exist, but resulted in an expensive taxi ride to another location where I was told my "confirmed rate" was not even close to what it was going to cost. Of coarse that would be if they had a suitable car.
We went next door to Hertz where we were looked after courtiously and got a better vehicle at a bargain price.

I rented a car for long weekend (3days) couples months ago from Budgets Brampton, Ontario, for 200.00$ including insurance coverage for $24.99CAN/per day and tax. I have been tricked/rip-off; I took insurance saying everything is covered but the fine end, unfortunately not everything. I had to pay $250.00CAN extra for small dent on the windshield damage.

BUDGET RENT-A-CAR in Montreal in the train station two floors below the Fairmont hotel. ...BEWARE...Rude, Disrespectful, Shady, Underhanded, Untruthful, Deceptive...WILL AUTOMATICALLY CALL POLICE IF YOU DISAGREE WITH AN UPCHARGE.

my wife and i moved to maui from seattle. After living there for a year we decided to visit seattle. We are 25 years old and have no credit so we were going to use our debit card. after being accepted by the nazi equafax we discovered that we would need an extra 400$ for budget to hold on to but we didnt have that much on one card(they were not willing to use both debit cards)....so we went on a wild goose chase for 3 hours to find both of our banks(without a car)to transfer enough money into one account. upon our return we were no longer were accepted by equafax. i feel that budget car rental is a selfish purly profit based company willing to lie and cheat anyone out of a good vacation.upon our return to maui we will make sure anyone whom visits us will NOT rent from budget.
