Strength:

Fast spool up
Holds until 18psi
can have internal/external wastegate
The dyno numbers will show!!!!!

Weakness:

On large displacement the smaller t25 will create a fast spool, and quick hp but won't hold for high hp #'s

Feb of 04 I bought the TSI extreme turbo kit for the 2005 civic and it's a dream for this car. With 6psi out of the box it's enough to get you going. With just a few mods, internals mainly, that's what i did, I have now 15 psi and its good for about 250whp. With anymore mods and going for big numbers and low 13's at the track the T28bb is the greatest turbo for the engine size of 1.5 to a 2.0. I have actually seen a GT2871R on a evo pushing 400whp. So what ever anyone tells you about the t28 series turbos thats bad, don't listen to the crap. This is the best you can get for the size of engine.

Thanks
PacMan

Strength:

Quick rev's, quick pressure, quick low end torque. 40 - 50 easy horespower. very little to worry about (gas octane, timing, etc)

Weakness:

Can hold high pressure, drops off at high rpms

No lag, great low end torque build (where you really want it!) recommend for small 2.0L and less engines. Seems very durable. can hold maybe 10 PSI but it comes on quick. Higher pressures need engine mods (retard timing, high octane etc) not with this!!

Strength:

Quick spool Beaten this thing for the last fours months... sssssttttsss... with no problems

Weakness:

Not much high end power

Definately a must for a non-turbo upgrade. In my hometown (Puerto Rico), you can see some awkward upgrades(i.e. Montero's ECU and Throttle Bodies into Mirages)... and this is one of them. I agree with everyone who has posted a review on this turbo: not for 12 secs. Thats why I'm selling it. ;)

Strength:

Fast Spool Up

Weakness:

Lower HP models lack high end

The GT25 comes in several configurations, and the smallest size is not good for 12sec quarters. However, with the larger GT25, with the larger exhaust housing, you will find 12 second quarters very achievable in the right car. I know a fella who has a GT25 (400Hp model) on a CA18DET, and can do 12.0 1/4 mile times. So I wouldn''t be too quick to discount the usability of this turbo, given the right application. I would agree that this turbo is suited to Sub 2.0L applications.

Strength:

miminal lag
not too radical for the street
good sound
no fuel upgrades requiered
durable
great for a daily driver who isnt intrested in 12 sec. 1/4s

Weakness:

not able to mantain high boost for me
cant flow enough cfms to seriously race
cant support enough horses

this turbo is very small and has almost no lag. But it cant really hold boost over about 15psi for very long and it will spike. i have a manual boost controller and @ WOT it will be in the area of 15 to 19 psi, 19 being for a very small amount of time. good sound if you have a K&N and a new BOV

is not as powerful as the bigger turbos but is good for most people who dont want lag, can not boost up as high as others though
