Strength:
Not real whiney and fart sounding like so many out there these days giving us a bad name. Not too loud Nice low rumble at idle
Weakness:
Not totally straight through like the race series, has a tuning tube that cuts down the noise but hurts air flow some, not sure what the flow rating is, but it's definitely not 2.25" straight thru. Does sound a little farty when revved at at a stop. I've had the 6" round street series single tip muffler for about 2yrs now. It gave some extra performance and gas mileage. It doesn't drone on the highway at cruising speed. I'd say this is a good muffler for those w/ 4cyls., wanting something that isn't too loud, but better looks and performance than stock. You definitely hear the nice growl from this one when you get on it, but when just cruising sometimes you don't even notice it. Similar Products Used: stock |

Sound, not too loud but at a cost.
Weakness:
Too restrictive for best street performance. Way too restrictive compared with Aeroflows. Removed magnaflows for noticeable performance gain.Ï Similar Products Used: q |

SOUND>>>SOUND>>>SOUND...It's so bassy! FREED UP POWER BAND THE LOOK...POLISHED STAINLESS
Weakness:
NONE...MAYBE THE 15 MINUTE WAIT AT THE MUFFLER SHOP Purchased part #14803...WOW! Between this and my AEM CAI, really sweet sound. Nice and low when just cruisin at low speeds, rich and deep when accelerating. The look is kinda funny (you know, two tips trying to peek out the factory exhaust alcove) but man is the sound worth it! Bought it new, had it put on for like $30 and it only took 15 minutes. Performance: Much smoother acceleration, less restrictive power-band (easier revving), and better downshifting. Above 5000 rpm, the AEM and MagnaFlow compete against one another for my auditory attention...man oh man is it sweet. Temporary solution til I get a GReddy, or Tanabe, or...well, heck I'm so impressed by this muffler I might get a MagnaFlow Cat-Back! Well Constructed, Tone sounds Great, Prices.
Weakness:
Dual Wall decreases sound if you just put the muffler on the Civic wo takin off the res. Muffler is Wonderful, first application was alright, not pleased with muffler sound, wasnt loud enough, wrecked the civic, i then got the exact same car, installed the muffler back on this one, have 2 3/4 inch pipe from the cat back. now, GREAT SOUND, I RECOMEND THIS TO ANY CIVIC OWNER, this muffler has one of the deepest tones, unlike the super high pitch ricy mufflers. Strength:
- Dropped my 1/4 time by 0.3! - Great throaty sound that gets smoother and deeper as it gets older - Noticeable HP gain, mostly midrange and top-end - No loss in low-end - PERFECT sound volume, not too loud, not too soft.
Weakness:
- since it's a custom install, its hard to find a shop to do it. - sort of hollow-sounding for the first couple of weeks (goes away though) I chose this muffler for my Grand Am GT (3.4L V6) because I couldn't afford the expensive Borla Cat-back and I didn't want the loud noise of a flowmaster. It is the crossflow muffler made for the camaro/firebird (#12266). I got it installed with 3" tips for about $80. The install was custom (new hangers, mid pipe, etc) so it took me a little time to find a shop that would do it for me. Don't bother with MIDAS and those types, cause they'll try to charge you $350 to install any custom job like this. Similar Products Used: Stock... doesn't even compare to Magnaflow |

Sound Great Look Great (if you like chrome) Improved throttle response Lighter than stock
Weakness:
Smallest tips I could get were 3" dia. each (of the 4 tips), stock is about 2.5" I really, really like these mufflers. I had them installed with custom SS catback pipes, and no resonator. I had a B&B Tri-Flo catback system on my car prior to these, but wasn't happy with it. It didn't look all that great and was only a little louder than stock. The Magnaflows sound much better, look better, perform better, and cost much less. What else is there to say? I get a lot of compliments on them as well. However, I wouldn't recommend them if you don't want a loud exhaust. At certain RPM's on the highway they can be annoying. Stunning looks and great sound. Just looking at the muffler you can see why Magnaflow is ISO certified. Unbelievable quality to cost ratio.
Weakness:
Could be just a little louder for my taste. Perhaps with age... I had a stainless Street Series muffler (#14832) installed on my 95 Maxima this week. The addition of this muffler totally changed the acceleration characteristics of the car. It sounds so cool and looks hot-smokin’-jammin’. I was concerned going in that it would be too loud, but the addition of the muffler and removal of the resonator gave me what I was looking for. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Polished SS. Looks cool. Price is reasonable. Available almost anywhere.
Weakness:
Obnoxious-sounding in mid-power range (after 2 weeks). A best-buy for those looking to annoy their fellow motorists. A lot of the reviewers seem to have posted right after installation. I decided to wait a couple of weeks to post. When I got it installed, it looked great--polished SS, nice tip. It sounded good too, nice performance note, not too loud, passed the "wife test" (could carry on a conversation with the wife without a negative comment from her about the sound). I did detect a burning smell after driving that lasted a few days after installation, guessed it was just getting broken in. Now that I've been driving it for a couple of weeks, the sound while between 2000-2800rpm has exceeded my "obnoxious" level. It doesn't have a performance note, rather a beater/can't-afford-a-muffler type sound. It's too bad--I like it otherwise--but it's annoying. It's OK for 75% of my driving but for the other 25% it's embarrassing. It's gotta go. Similar Products Used: I've had stock since I bought the car new. |

so quiet, its scary ive only had it for a couple hours so far and its been awesome. i was so nervous about getting this item because ive heard alot of good and bad points to it. when i was watching it be installed i couldnt watch, scared that it was a mistake. but when mike started it up, it gave of a real nice, low purr. it was perfectly tuned and sounded great. to top it off, her gave me a real nice slant cut tip. PERFECT! performance wise it wast all too noticable, alot more smoother then stock. Similar Products Used: dont know |
