Strength:

Gives the the power and noise to really show off my Saleen Explorer. I dont even think twice when I say that this is definetly the loudest exhaust system that is legal. Delivers a lot of power and it helped up my horsepower. Exceptional exhaust system.

Weakness:

If used on SUV's or trucks that are dropped, to be careful because it scrapes on speed bumps, etc. Just drive slow over them.

I paid $250 dollars for it and it is a very reasonable price for such a great exhaust system. If you want attention on the road or want people to look at your car and say 'That car sounds like a beast', you cant go wrong with the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system. I recommend it 100%.

I cannot compare it to any other street legal exhaust system.

Strength:

Like the name says ULTIMATE sound is what this product is for. If you want the loudest, legal, muffler well you have found it. Looks like I just bought it. No muffler louder(legally anyways)

Weakness:

I have heard that it can easily scrap or drag on lowered trucks.

The price is pretty much medium. But what you might pay for other Manufacturers mufflers this loud, makes this one a deal. If you already have the power you want and are not concerned with that. This is best. Your wife will know when to set the table for dinner.

Strength:

Setup came with simple instructions, the stainless steel tailpipes look amazing, nice tone, installs fairly quickly.

Weakness:

Not as loud as I was hoping for, yet still sounds aggressive. Kinda worried about how long the system will last compared to a stainless steel borla cat back. Main weakness--the right tailpipe comes welded from the factory onto the muffler and it sticks out like a inch further than the left tailpipe, regardless of all my efforts to match them even. (I tried everything to try and reposition it some, but with no luck)

I think overall the cat back is probably the best bang for the buck. It looks great and was a nice improvement from my rotting stock exhaust. I would recommend it if not for a quality exhaust, than for the nice looks alone.

SOUNDS KILLER!!! Intimidates any onlooker in my path!

Weakness:

None yet

In doing extensive research, it was proven that the 40 Series, 2 Chamber mufflers, offered the best bizang for the most reasonable bizuck. I have had my system for 3 days, and have yet to stop driving. That means I have been driving for 3 days straight, with no chaser. *snicker* The first place I went to test the sound of these bad boys was at the local mall garage. After seeing a rice rocket drive past me, I instantly revved my pony to let him know that I was no stranger to power. All he could do was bow down his head in shame. Next stop...ILLEGAL DRAG RACES!!!

I believe that the Flowmaster American Thunder System tops all other brands in terms of performance, price, and sound. I'm putting a set on huffy, and am expecting the same performance. Go Flowmaster!

Strength:

Reputation of course...also, very cheap relative to these other lesser known exhaust companies, easy installation, everything fit very well

Weakness:

Not fully stainless cat-back, but for $260 its the best "bang for the buck"
I would highly recommend this system!!

When I heard that Flowmaster did not make a cat-back application for a '96 Cobra, I almost couldn't believe it. But after talking to the Flowmaster techs, I came to find out that the '96 GT system will work just fine. The exhaust tips are .5" smaller, but the sound is still there. A subtle rumble when idling but when you jump on it, watch out!! Turns heads everywhere. Combined with a Bassani X-Pipe, this would make the complete exhaust system.

Compared to the stock Cobra exhaust, it's a nice upgrade, but not overwhelmingly loud...

Strength:

Sound great under WOT

Weakness:

Resonated like crazy, especailly on the highway. Has a hollow sound to them under everyday driving.

I had them for 3 year before the mufflers rusted out, I replaced them with Dynomax which were too quiet. I had shorty header and 2.5" h pipe, the exhuast was pretty loud. I had 3.73 gears so the resonance was quite strong at 65 mph. They sounded too hollow for my tastes.
