Strength:

-Great look and finish. -Low tone, good enough to even creep into the garage in the middle of the nite. -Low and Mid range power. -Good price (payed for two, dual v6 exhuast)

Weakness:

none except for the middle it hangs realy low. Havn''t scraped it yet but it just worries you having a part of your exhaust that close to the pavement. (car is dropped 3+ in.)

First of all I bought the exhaust because I wanted only the best for my baby. I wanted the muffler and tips to be huge and well i got what i wanted. They mufflers look great, my exhuast just to say in a word, mean!!! I notice a definite increase in horsepower. It pulls perfectly in time before the v-tec kicks in. Car is only an automatic, couldnt get manual with the v-tec, so im not trying to run 12''s or anything. But the horsepower is definitely welcomed. I also chose the exhaust because of its quietness. The car is a luxury car so why would i want it any louder. But its still a perfect powerful sounding deep tone. Great when on the highway, dont even notice it sometimes.

Strength:

-Great low rumble when at WOT. Otherwise quiet. -Looks great, doesn''t have a huge ass tip. The stainless steel shines when someone is behind you and their lights hit it. -Decent amount of power gain. -Pretty cheap for the quality of Apex. -Install was a breeze.

Weakness:

-Only one thing pisses me off. The contact it makes with the heatshield. I''ve rigged the hanger so that it no longer hits it. But sometimes it gets back out of place and I have to fix it again.

I wanted the quietest aftermarket cat-back possible. I didn''t want to draw more attention to myself then I already do...cops hate me around here. And since the RS*R stopped being imported, I went with the WS.

Sound and looks

Weakness:

Middle section of exhuast hangs a little lower than the stock exhaust. Sometimes it scrapes. I recently heard it doesn''t produce much of a hp gain compared to other exhausts. I don''t know how true this is. I didn''t get much of a gian, but I did notice a difference. The only way I will know is to change it.

Great fit. Nice sounding exhaust system. I think it is the quietest exhaust system on the market and I am running it w/ dc sports header and random tech high flow cat.

Strength:

The look of the muffler is great. Good finish without the HUGE tip; only 4" and its angled. The construction is good and comes with all of the bolts and gaskets, including one for the cat. It even came with some stainless steel polish! Very nice deep sound without the annoying drone for freeway driving. You can enjoy your stereo, even with the windows down.

Weakness:

Point where the mid section meets the muffler tends to hit what looks to be a part of the cars chassis sometimes and makes a rattle. It is not annoying or constant but it is something that Apex could address for future models. I have fixed the problem already on my own by adjusting the mounts slightly.

The Greddy EVO is a great exaust BUT it is IMHO quite droney on the freeway if your trying to listen to your radio for an afternoon cruise. The Apexi WS is MUCH quieter but does not lose the sporty sound of the exaust altogether, especially at WOT when combined with a good intake and header. It rips at the mid to high range and still gives you the stock back-pressure at the lower rpm to help maintain some of the lower end torque.

The biggest plus for the Apexi WS is the cost. I picked it up for $400.00 shipped and then installed it in just over an hour.

I am very happy with the WS Exaust.

Similar Products Used:

I had the Greddy EVO prior to the WS. The EVO has a "meaner", noticable sound to it. Simply a little too loud for my taste. The WS is much more effective at maintaining some of the low end torque that was lost with the EVO. If you are just keeping you engine NA and enjoy a sporty but quiet sound (slightly louder than stock) this is the exaust for you.

Strength:

Looks, construction, mature sound, define breathing improvement for NA, initial FI applications

Weakness:

hangers allow contact with heat shield

The Apexi-WS exhaust is either a rebadge of the RS, or possibly a slightly different design. Initial reports have that this exhaust is slightly louder than the RS. My experience in looking at an RS is that if there is any difference it is slight if at all, with the tip on the RS saying RS with a small Apexi logo, and the WS has the Apexi logo only. What I can tell you is it definitely frees up the exhaust, with better midrange and top end though the bottom feels a little softer now due possibly to less "back pressure". Soundwise, new it is not at all loud, with a little booming in the cabin off throttle as you slow down. The sound is best described as a true sport car sound, not too deep, not tinny at all, just right. After about 5 weeks the exhaust is noticeably quieter, and the booming has subsided. The only complaint was the hangers need adjusting to keep the exhaust from contacting the heat shield backing up and making hard turns. Oddly, this same problem was on the RS model too, which reinforces the notion it may just be a rebadge. The hp curve in the mags is probably about right, though I wouldn't expect it to be reliable with other mods. It is for NA applications mainly. Slight FI like the JRSC kit at 6psi will benefit, but the 2.5" piping is too restrictive for best power. Welds and materials are top notch. All in all I like it, and would recommend it for anyone needing a quiet and nice looking exhaust.

i like the looks.... it's real quiet with a deep tone.... it's apexi and only cost me 450 to have it shipped.

Weakness:

it's deep that you can feel it inside..... i dont know if this is a weakness

i just got mine installed two days ago. i'm very happy with the out come of the power. really made a difference low-end to mid is really noticeable but i haven't really test the high-end part yet. this is my first aftermarket exhaust but i've seen and been into cars that has em.. pipes are powder coated, and the muffler is stainless steel. mid section of the exhaust is kinda tricky installing it.... but it fits perfect except that the mid sections hangs lower than stock exhaust.

hanger good, never have to worry about scraping exhaust , even if u drop it 3 inchs, looks pretty good, nice workmanship, sounds deep not whinning noise lawmower like others .

Weakness:

When it comes to power at the wheels, expect only 1 to 3 hp at the wheels, apexi n1 can get 8 max on stock, but on turbo about 20max. still pretty good hp

overall this exhaust is best bang for your money, great replacement for your stock exhaust, it gives you the sercuity with that deep throat sound like a real sports car with out worry about popo (police) on your ass about your exhaust being too loud (n1 ) with the right combine exhaust parts, you can have a very fast car, with out to much noise and lost of gas mileage. i'm running b16a head with b18b block, je pistons, skunk2 intake manifold, crower cams, springs, apexi ws exhaust & VAFC controller, aem CAI, jg throttle body, spoon cam gears, dc sports header, dynoed at 177.8 HP at the wheels, future plan on using b18c head (192) more displacement than b16a , anywayz hope you get what u want

Strength:

Price, quality, looks, and LOW to MID RANGE POWER! Apex claimed a 3 - 4 HP gain overall, but I swear it feels like I gained 10 HP on the low end compared to my old free flowing exhuast. The engine doesn't feel like it is working as hard now; pushing the gas pedal makes forward motion instead of just noise.

Weakness:

Slight (very slight) contact with a heat shield. It was easy to fix....
also this product might not be for the dyno tuning, 8000 rpm shifting race car people who want max top end HP.

We had an extremely loud and cheap exhaust system for a year, so my goal was to quiet the car down but not lose performance. I researched all the brands, called the companies direct and asked lots of questions and ended up going with the Apex WS. Without question this was the right decision. Great quality, all hardware and gaskets, instructions, and even polish for the stainless muffler and tip. The sound is VERY quiet with a nice mellow roar between 4000 and 6500 rpms. This exhaust is absolutely perfect for a daily driven modified car that you intend on either having a conversation or listening to music in. Performance is tuned to the rpm range a street car is most often driven at and all in all makes me want to take road trips again.
