Rockford Fosgate punch power dvc 12
Strength:
Hits fairly low, can handle a good amount of power, doesn't need to much airspace
Weakness:
gets distorted sometimes at higher wattage, price can be high unless you have a hook up I paid 500 for a pair of these subs, now i am looking for a new pair. They are good subs and put out solid base, but if you really wanngo for high spl, efficiency and huge base, the soundstream spl170's will slam. The stroker 12's have huge bass but arent quite as tight. Another sweet sub is the infinity perfect 12. Similar Products Used: None |

1999 Punch Power DVC
Strength:
Hits hard with a good amount of power(should run at least 500 rms). Hard to blow under normal conditions. Not easily damageable.
Weakness:
Mine ditort sometimes around 50-60hz. These subs are deinatley a good subif you have the right hook ups and are running enough power to them. Many people say certain subs suck, most of the time because they have no idea what they are doing when they hook up. These subs though are good if your looking for solid bass and depedablility. I would recomend these subs if you wanna spend 250 a piece. Similar Products Used: Cerwin vega, vega series. JLw6. |

None I bought a set of Power 12s in 1995 and they are still working great. They are 8 ohm, wired in parallel to a 1994 Punch 200 DSM. The enclosure size I have is 3.85 ft^3 for the 2 subs. I had a 1.5ft^3 per sub sealed box for a while and it worked great too. If you dont like the size of the enclosure, dont cry about it. Be smart and call Rockford to look at other possibilities. They gave me recommendations for sealed and ported enclosures with no problem. If you dont build your own enclusures, shame on you. Someone with an IQ of 50 could manage to build one. Bought a pair of these B-stock subs. Put one in my Celica and gave the other one to my girlfriend, which I put in her Infinity M30 convertible. Powerered mine with a Rockford 800a2 and hers with a Rockford 500a2, both bridged. Plenty of power to em'. Sub hits pretty hard. Not as hard as what I've seen from other manufacturer like the Stroker from Cerwin Vegas, or MTX's ThunderCast line. Accurate, I'd say so for my pop, jazz, blues, and new age. Played some rap on em'. Had a head ache, switched a cd cuz it was too damn obnoxious. Cooling is not a problem with these as they have a vent hole in the back that I can almost fit my fist in em. It does get pretty warm though cuz of the amount of power I used (1082 Watts RMS). Nuts huh? Plenty of bass for only one sub in my Celica. What sucks about these is that they require a box the size of frickin' Montana. Two cubic foot's worth. Mine is ported. Accuracy=5, nice and tight when needed. SPL=5, you'll grow deaf listening to em' cranked for 5 minutes. Sound quality=4, if you play em' with some decent volume. Installation ease=2, requires too big of box and it weighs 40 pounds each (thick MDF, 3/4' to 1 inch). Value=2, $700 bucks a pair? I must have been smoking crack when I bought em'. Looks=5, chunky and PHAT! Overall? I'd give it a 3.5. Since there aren't halves as a rating, I'll give it a 4. |

Strength:
super tight clean low hitting bass
Weakness:
foam surround I have 1 12" punch HE2 I had a punch 250 amp for my 2 10" xlc now I have a punch 360 running one of the he2 12's and it punds harder and sounds a lot cleaner. I have it up in a 94 integra with a sealed box and the sound quality is acutally realy good, not as good as my buddies boston competitors but my sub is louder than his 2. For rap and dance music it's good but for rock and super fast techno/rave music in it's sealed box this is an amazing speaker, I was told a ported box would be a lot louder but not as responsive so I went with the sealed and am not dissapointed at all I'd highly recomend them to anyone. the 10's were even cleaner. I would like if it would require a smaller box I bought two of these bad boys. Ran them at parellel to a a mono amplifier the bd1000a1. I have to say it is well worth the money.
