Strength:
Don't distort too much when volume is high
Weakness:
where to start, poor bass quality, don't reproduce deep bass, and very very selective in what enclosure it is in. not just sealed vs ported, but also the size of a sealed box. Well i bought them because my old mtx's foam surround broke down due to the climate use and age. I got them because they were a bargain at 80$ for a pair and i heard only good things about polk. Unfortunately, i can't say that it was a good decision. I was running them off a punch 100 2channel before, initially in a ported box. The subs really REALLY didn't sound very good in that configuration. I then put them in a sealed box. They did sound better sealed, but they totally lack any deep bass. They just seem 2 hit pretty high and hard.... almost what u'd expect out of a 6x9. I then got a more powerfull amp a punch 400s. I thought that would make a difference..... but the sq was still poor as it was before. They did get louder, and i'll give em 1 thing, they don't distort too much when it's loud. SQ i'd say is slightly better when the vol is high. Ocerall i wouldn't buy these subs again (prob why they are discontinuing them) Similar Products Used: mtx bluethunder&roadthunder 10's, jbl 1000's, jl audio 10w0's, alpine swe&s 10's, kicker comp 12$ 15's, audiobahn their base 10's don't remember model# off the top of my head, and a couple diff fosegate 10's and 12's |
