polk audio db124
Strength:
Excellent looks, great cone and edge materials used.
Weakness:
voicecoil easily burns, cannot produce deep bass, cheap and impractical speaker terminals Looks great and material used on the outside looks durable (silver thick poly cone and nomes rubber surround). However, despite its drable looks, on the inside it is far from durable as i easily burned its dual voicecoil in less than 1 week use (compared to previous subs i used like Directed Audio's and Kenwood's that did not damage using same set-up. Also the bass was not deep and easily distorted with deep bass tones (even after following subwoofer specs given by the manufacturer). works well with techno thumping bass and rock bass drums but not deep bass like guitar and R&B/hip-hop bass synths. Also, using both voicecoils is a hassle as the polk audio db124dvc has simple one lug connector for each speaker polarity terminal so there is no terminal for connecting the other voicecoil for parallel. Strength:
Good excursion, low bass extension, very quick tight bass. Check out my very in depth review at forums.sprawlmall.com
Weakness:
none Awesome product for the price. You can't get a better deal than a 400 watt rms subwoofer at around $80 bucks that they are sellin for right now, or the 50 a piece I got them for. Similar Products Used: kicker, JL, alpine, Sony, alumapro, phoenix gold, pioneer, etc. |
