4 xmax 12s
Strength:
Loud, deep and clear
Weakness:
low sensitivity, needs power I orginally had all four on a zpa0.3 amp and it was not enough power to drive them at all. 900w. I have them in a sealed box 1-1.2 on a hifonics 2000 watt amp running at 2 ohms so I am giving them 1000 watts (500 a piece) the two are hitting harder than the 4. I took out my cadence wild best 10s(2 of them) in a ProBox ported and the two phoenix gold 12s hit much harder deeper and louder. The probox was not intended for the wild beast at all. However i was giving the wildbeast 2000 watts. Go figure. I am about to put all 4 back in my car sealed and put them on a mmats dhc2200.1 amp at 1 ohm and lets see what they will do. With the right box and power they can be ridicolous. Ported prolly sounds excellent I do have the room for it. The sealed sounds liek a ported box though. Truly a SQL sub. If you have multiple ones you can hang with the ridicolous subs they have out now like RE (sx, mt, xxx), Fi, HD3, Cadence. The 12s can play al the frreq as a 10 but hits like a 12 My 2 12s on 1000watts sealed flexes my trunk and shakes my car in a benz s class. Phoenix Gold XMAX 12" Subs
Strength:
Carbon Fiber construction allows them to handle ample power.
Weakness:
NONE (I have put them to the test) I have a Lanzar Opti50c pushing my 2 12's and they sound lovely. I only have my Lanzar turned up about half way, but I am still putting about 800rms into them, and they handle it great. I have gotten them to distort a bit but only under extreme wattage (1200rms). I entered a local competition and I hit 128 decibals, pretty good for the money. Similar Products Used: JBL W6's, W7's |

PG XMAX 12
Strength:
strengths? well it's strong, can take a lot of power, pounds. put it in one word... phenomenal.
Weakness:
none whatsoever. I had the xmax10 before being powered by xs2300 and i loved it. unfortunately my car was stolen and took my whole system. now trying to rebuild it and i was lucky enough to find an xmax12 for $50 in a sealed box. then found an xs2500 for $100. what can i say, i loved it when i had the xmax10/xs2300, now i have xmax12/xs2500. go figure. you can't go wrong with this combination. these are very hard to find these days and you better get one if you're lucky enough to find one. Pretty much everything. It rocks to all my jams. Hip-hop, R&B, rock, Ragae and Alternative.

Great sound, small box, clear and loud, had three jl audio 12w6's before this and these sound just the same if not better. And I only have two speakers instead of three!
Weakness:
None to date.Been banging on these for over a year and have no problems. The only bad part would be that they don't make them any more. What quit with a good thing?Just like the old Lanzar Opti amps.WHY?! Have these installed behind seat in regular cab pickup.Running at about 1 cubic foot sealed for each speaker.Have a PPI 1800 mono amp running them. Each speaker is getting 400 watts rms and they love it.They are rated at 500 rms but they still sound like they could handle more. Phoenix Gold Xmax 12"
Strength:
Strong at all volume levels and frequencies. Can take alot of abuse so give them power.
Weakness:
None that I've seen so far. I purchased this PG Xmax speaker only a week ago and I am totally impressed. I have a Kenwood KAC-929 powering it and it kills the Bazooka EL 1204, and the 2 JL Audio W0's I had. (Which I fried only a couple days after getting) It hits hard and doesn't distort even at very high volume levels. This sub is power hungry and I'm feeding it 400+ WRms and it still keeps coming for more! With a 112 oz. magnet, I doubt I can get a better sub for the price I paid. Very Durable! carbon fiber cones. Takes a small enclosure. Great combo of SPL/SQ Screw JL audio.
Weakness:
Must have an enclsure with the right dimensions or they will clip. Nice subs! Hard hitting. I have a PG 500.1 class D amp. I have 2 capacitors, great wiring, and a line driver. These things are kicking my cars @ss. I recommend using an amp with a subsonic filter if you really want to push some power through them. Similar Products Used: kicker comps, soundstream SPL |

Don't know any. Great Sub I'm powering 1 12" X-max w/Alpine MRV-1507(1,500 watts peak). Broke my window, and nobody belives I only got one 12" sub. My Neighbors Hate Me! Similar Products Used: Before I got the X-MAX, I had a 12" MTX 8000, Blew-up in 2 months. |
