Strength:
plays low bass extremely well and has amazing bass extension too
Weakness:
None that i've found, but only had about 3 weeks got this bad boy hooked up to a concept amp (which hardly anyone has, but its because a lot of people don't know about concept, but they are top of the line and are becoming more popular). Anyways, it is putting 220 watts into this orion sub with the bass boost set to about 16 db and it fu**ing thumps. My ears start to hurt if i play it too long. This sub is the sh*t. I only have 1 but it is plenty. Friend has 2 mtx 4000 12" and this beats them. his in a trunk and rattles a little too. Mine don't since its in a truck and not a car trunk. Strength:
great sounding sounds with orion reputation, the bass hits low, hard, and very tight
Weakness:
orion recommends 1.5 cubes for a sub in a sealed box. i got 2 xtr's and the box takes up just about the whole truck in my jeep. i got these subs new off of ebay for $75 a piece, which was a really good deal. i was thinking about getting W3's, but i could get 2 orions for a the price of one jl. i have the 2 xtr's in a sealed box running off a orion xtr 500, and it thumps. when the bass hits my whole jeep shakes. the rearview mirror is almost completely useless now cause it shakes so much. personally i think these are the best subs for the price. most online places sell them for $110-$120, which still isn't bad, but you can find them much cheaper on ebay. Similar Products Used: jl 10w0, these were my old subs. the xtr's are much much loud. the comparison is unfair tho, considering these 12s and they are twice as powerful. |
