Strength:
very clean bass, very deep bass.
Weakness:
I have only had these subs for a few days so I am unsure of how long they will last with the abuse they will recieve. I went to this little store and asked for some JL W-O 12's. The guy said those were high quality and they didn't carry them. He said the Nakamichi's were the best he had so I bought them. I had not even heard of them before. I would have to say that these Nakamichi's hit cleaner and harder then the JL's. They were also cheaper then JL's. I have a Power Acoustik 820 amp bridged powering the subs and it works great. If you are looking for a sub that will sound great no matter what music you listen to then this would be a good choice. I listen to "screw" music and with other subs the bass can sometimes get distorted, the nakamichi subs handle the bass well and does not distort. These have been the best subs I've heard screw music on. I did think the price was a little steep, but it was still worth it (if they last). Similar Products Used: PPI and JL Audio. |

very clear at times when playing industrial music... doesn''''t overpower your other speakers..
Weakness:
sometimes sound gets harsh... think a ported setup would solve this have had these 2 12in nak for almost 3 months now in .85 cf sealed box... good sound however a ported box would probably sound better... when I play front 242 it sounds like there is a drummer in my trooper... metallic sounds like a bass drum are reproduced faithfully. These subs are amazing at times with super detailed bass... other times they get a little muddy.. i''''m constantly varying the level with my remote lpl knob... i''''m powering them with 2 channels of a 4 ch phoenix gold Tantrum 600w Similar Products Used: jensen...crap.... 10 inch paper vega''''s souded decent.... infinity Beta- boomy |

Best SQ of any sub i''ve heard.
Weakness:
Doesn''t go extremely loud. Amazing sub if you like sq. I''m running 200w rms to it and it gets loud, but not loud enough to shatter windows or anything. I''m getting rid of mine because of that, i love the tight base response and the solid hits, but it just doesn''t get the volume a 17 year old needs. I''m going for a pair of Orion XTR Pro 10D dual voice coil subs because hopefully the 10" will keep me a lot of the quality and the 500w rms power handling of these will let me pound the hell out of them. Similar Products Used: dual 12" Boston Acoustics (these are loud and solid until you get about 200w going through them, then they get a little shaky and the quality goes up, but they go loud), Rockford (about 4 different ty |

Not a SPL monstor. I went to this woofer because of its looks and by what my rep told me. I am not a spl freek i like SQ but i have a PG XS2300 running them i 2 ohm mono and if i want them to hi hard they will my 323 just shaks. I have them in a seald .85 cu ft box each. and man what a lovly sound rich detailed and lots of impact. I f you want SQ i would recomend this sub to any one but if you want spl look at JL. Strength:
Good SQ, better than most. Not as good as the Infinity perfect, or others. Uses little power, and requires only a small enclosure
Weakness:
Ran @ low gain on 300w rms amp for ~8 months, then turned the gain up one day to make it louder, POP, it was toast in 20 min. Just quit, no distorting, or anything, just quit. Don't do what I did, 200 W RMS is more than nuff' If you don't need spl, need a small box, small amp, and good SQ reinforcement, go for it. I recommend it for classical, jass etc music. If you are into anything with "real" bass, go to the alpine or mtx. If you have $$ go for the eclipse or perfect. Similar Products Used: MTX, Alpine, Eclipse |

Strength:
it has extremely good sq, looks cool
Weakness:
first off the xmax is less than 7mm. That sucks. You cannot get deep bass without a good xmax, therefore, these subs do not hit deep. They produce no sound at all. Ok, these subs are for you if:1. You can afford to put two or more subs in your car and power them adeuqately.2. You like to listen to week bass with no frequency depth. i would under no circumstances recommend this sub. If you want sq go get an image dynamics idq sub for less money. It hits lower and sounds better. If you like good bass and want a pretty good amount of bass go buy an audiobahn alum 12. Do not buy this sub. Similar Products Used: audiobahn Alum-12's perfects and just about everything else |

bass quality, this thing gets loud
Weakness:
not the highest spl out there This thing is great no matter what kind of music you listen to. I got 2 of them, and people think they are 15's. And i have been told that they sound smoother than other subs. They have better extended hits than others. Nice and controlled. The price is well worth it. Similar Products Used: pioneer 12's |

Strength:
clean linear sound, don't need large amps, look awesome
Weakness:
not real loud I had as much power going to the one vega as I have going to both nak's combined. The sound from the vega rattled my car more, the nakamichis get more distinct sound through to my ears. I receive compliments on how clear the bass is. My set up has two 200W amps. I recommend using a ported box of 1.75 feet tuned to 34Hz, mine is great. I was happy to see that these subs really move beautifully despite their 6mm Xmax. Similar Products Used: 2 MTX RT1040s mediocre compared to to nak in linearity |

Strength:
I did not have much experience with the Nakamichi brand before purchasing this sub. I bought it because it sounded really clear in the store, and after 6 months I can say that it hasn't disapointed me. I'm into all kinds of music, and this sub has been able to keep pace with everything I throw at it, while still sounding super clear. The small box volume really makes the unit compact.
Weakness:
This might not be the best "boom" sub on the market. If you're into SPL, then something else might be better. This sub is a little more costly than most out there, but it does an EXCELLENT job at reproducing music bass. Everyone who has listened to it has commented on how "clean" the sound is. There is very little hollow or flabby distortion. It runs in a slealed 0.85 cu.ft box in the trunk of my golf. Similar Products Used: orion xtr 12, MTX roadthunder 12 |
