Strength:
Can't overdrive this unit with my 250 watt sub amp. Long excursion.
Weakness:
Needs a long break in, to get it's act together. I know this unit is designed as a auot woofer, but I bought the speaker to replace the blown unit in my very expensive B&W subwoofer. The monster came in a wooden box, well packed, and it took some work to get into my living room and into the sub cabinet. At first listen I was not too impressed. I was not a great believer in break-in. I took about 3 months for this baby to shine. The bottom is not boomy, it's tight, deep and accurate. I used a signal generator to take it down to 20hz. No effort on this unit to reach down to 18hz. I have to give some credit to the build of the B&W sub cabinet, as it is a heavy and well braced downfiring subwoofer.. ASW4000..is the model number. I like this sub, will be buying one for my suburban and then write a review about how these babies behave in their proper surroundings.
