Strength:
SQ at it’s finest. Not quite as good good as the K2 newer version and remind me of JL’s 13w3v3 but cleaner and can handle more output. Also very sensitive, and ported around 38 is the way to bring these to life!!! Used to retail for same as K2 Version, but not positive. Weakness:
Tricky to find the best optimized box, lots of trial and error Price Paid: 260

Strength:
Fast and extremely accurate in all kinds of music. Loud yet free of distortion even at high power levels.
Weakness:
NONE !!!! I have been messing with car audio for over 10 years now and have owned Almost every good brand of subwoofer out there, But the 33K from FOCAL is by far the best Raw Driver I have ever heard PERIOD. I traded my Rockford Fosgate Power DVC for it and I really thought the 33K would not match up to the DVC. But as soon as I put the Sub in my car and turned on the stereo I could not believe what I was hearing and that was a perfect reproducion of what bass should sound like, clean, fast accurate and loud as hell. I'm not saying other subs can't also be fast and all that but it seems that most of them are always having to give up something to get some in return whether it's SQ or SPL. But the 33K with it's single voice coil and Kevlar cone has an exellent balance of both. Max power handling is rated at 800 W with a nominal rating of 400W but I think those numbers are a little underated because I have a phoenix gold 1000W amp running the sub and it just loves all the power. The price of 600 american seems a little steep but once you hear this sub you will not want to give it back. Similar Products Used: None |
