27V
Strength:
Sound Quality! Deep, fast and very accurate bass.
Weakness:
A little expensive if you buy it from Focal retailers Bought this one from a friend who did the install for me, he also fixes Focal speakers for the Focal guys. He tweeked my sub, played around with the spiders. It sounds great, better than a 27V out of the box. Don't get me wrong, an out the box 27V is without any doubt a good sub! My sub needed modifying as it was going in a convertible, and the way it was being installed. Similar Products Used: Alpine ZR, Phoenix Gold |

Weakness:
none The 27V is installed in a small sealed box cca 27 ltrs. and is being powered by an AUDISON MILLENIUM 4 4x45 W RMS amp connected to a Pioneer KEH-P7400 head unit (additional CD changer) and it works with POLYGLASS 165V (midbass in doors, tweeters-dashboard). Similar Products Used: None |

Focal 27V
Strength:
Bass clarity. Musicality. Good low end extension for a 10". Works well in a small box. Superb construction quality.
Weakness:
Price. It's expensive, but it's worth it. I'm powering it with 300W from a Soundstream Rubicon 604 amp, and it's installed in a 0.74 cubic ft sealed box (3/4" MDF) stuffed with half a pound of fiber fill. Similar Products Used: JL 10W04, Soundstream SS-10R (close but no cigar), Orion XTR 12", AVI SS-250 (very musical but low power handling). |
