Strength:

clean solid sound, mids and even highs; if bass is your weakness get a TDX.

Weakness:

none, but for the best sound on this 12" go with Zapco or at least a Diamond Audio D7 amp.

I have the Diamond Audio TDX 12"; It is powered a Zapco 750. The 12" TDX beat the JL Audio 12" W7 sub by far! if your looking for solid bass and strong mids and even "highs" from a sub go with the TDX and a Zapco. The JLw7 may hit hard with a few song but you will only get ok mids. And no highs. But to be fair the 12" w7 I heard was in a huge box. My guess is a smaller or diffent shape box might have made a difference, the 12" w7 was also powered by a JL Audio 1000/1 amp not a Zapco.

Model Reviewed: 2 -- Diamond Motorsport 12" M5

Strength:

Very deep bass, very clean sound.

Weakness:

expensive subwoofers, perform like a JL audio W3 (not JLW6), they have no upper bass at all. Oh, they crack when played loud, and fall apart after about 8 mounths of regular to loud listening.

I bought two 12" M5 subs from Diamond Audio and had them hooked up to a Soundstream Rubicon 1002. I had to say these were the best sounding subs I had ever heard, they played loud and went very deep. That was the begining, because these things pooped out big time, after about 4 months of playing, they started emitting this very loud crack evreytime it hit hard and after awhile, the rubber surrounds detached from the metal basket which caused the woofers to moved uncontrolled, which led to the total destruction of these subwoofers. What does all this mean? It means that these subwoofers SUCK!!! If you play your sytem loud, (like most people do) than don't buy these things, that's why you never see them on ebay or anywhere else, they just suck, you can get a lot better, more reliable subwoofers for a better price.

Strength:

-Very good power handling -Excellent Sound quality at low and high volumes -Build Quality remarkable

Weakness:

Aluminum cone may be easy to dent (not positive because mine is dent free) if a grill is not used.

Diamond Audio subs are the best I have ever ran across for sound quality and loudness. The M5 series subs are identical to the M6 subs in ever respect except for the fact that Diamond Audio realized they could put twice the power to the sub. The physical attributes are a little different as well with the M5 having the "dimples". I wouldn't think about getting anything to replace my sub other then a Diamond Audio. If I ever blow my M5 12" sub I will probably replace it with a 12" Diamond Audio TDX. If you have any questions about Diamond Audio products don't be afraid to email me because I'll set you straight.

JL audio W3v2/W6v2 is the closest I've found to date (had sub since Apirl 4th 2002) and the Diamond is still of better quality in all respects.

Strength:

The 400 Watts RMS that Pumps out from my amp.

Weakness:

not 1 weakness, pure steroid.

Well first off I feel like this speaker is limited edition, cause I can''t find it on E-bay or any where else for sale on the internet. So if anyone else has one and was lucky to find this website like me, well consider yourself lucky too. I used to have a Horrible Sony 12" Explod and thats nothing comapered to my (Diamond Audio M5122.8). And to think this Big Diamond 12" is in my apartment, man does it SHAKE my house, and the people that live around me haven''t complained yet, I think that they luv my Deep Bass. Well I think I''m gonna leave it at that if I haven''t convinced you to find one yet than you haven''t been listening.

Strength:

very high quality, sub cone is very ridged for tight bass, magnet assembly looks awsome, very good casting for sub basket

Weakness:

When I hooked up my second sub it didn't work so I took it out of the box an hooked it up directly to the amp an it still didn't work so I cranked the volume up to almost max then it started to work. Now the sub works awsome no problems with it any more. I think at the factory they may have gotten a little glue on the motor assembly

these subz put out some really high SLPs and the bass is very tight i have two of them but i can only run one sub now cause my amp is bogging out so i will have to wait a few weeks for my new amp to come in
