Strength:

VERY, VERY Nice Sounding,

Very long lasting had them close to or 5 years now with no trouble and they have been abused lots of power drivin into them, some water spilled on them the foam sorround has had a few accidental rips but easily repaired, and they still sound like they did when received new!!!

They look GREAT

Clean / Accurate sound reproduction!!

Weakness:

The only weakness on these subs are the tinsel leads hit the cone when a lot of power is applied, it starts at about 100 watts. The leads are a little to long probably because they are refurbished, It would be an easy repair / modification but since they sit in corners of the room you don't hear them hitting the cone, I have repaired many Subwoofers and amplifiers and its not really a big problem so I will not bother shortening them.

I recieved two of these subwoofers as a gift, I think in about 2000 or 2001. I lent them to a friend for a couple of weeks and they sounded very nice in his car, clean, very loud and they have a wide range of frequency reproduction, these really move some air, I forget what amp he was driving them with but it was plenty, I think it may have been a SUPER PRO 600 old school cheater amp and it pushed them very nicely.
I currently use them with custom boxes I built 2.5 cubic feet sealed (2 seperate boxes) in my home system and hit em with about 150 watts continuous along with many other speakers and they have very nice low end reproduction, all around great speakers!!!
I have compared them with a MTX Thunder 6000 15'' sub and they are very close, The MTX I think has a little more sensitivity, But you would be suprised how good the CRUNCH USA Drive Series DS15 sound!

I would recomend these to people who don't want to spend a lot of money on 15 inch subwoofers but want very good sound reproduction. These subs can play very, very LOUD B.A.S.S BASS when set up in the right box, They WILL shake the whole car but still with good clairity, people will here you bumpin aways away for sure!

But again please put them in a box that these will perform best in, Go to I think its www.maxxsonics.com the new owner of crunch usa and dowload the manual for the DS15 it will also have the DS12 and DS10 specs, but build a box to the specs and you should be set. They perform pretty well in a 2.5 cubic foot per chamber sealed box but, to get better / more output I would say a 3.5 to 4 cubic foot per chamber box with about a 25 square inch port about 9 inches long or 2 4 inch round ports about 9 inches long.

I Hope some this info helps you out, I am not sure about ther newer speakers but there older ones are very nice, I am sure the newer ones are about as good. There Ground Pounders look pretty good as well as there whole FatBoy line of subs. 5/8/2006 3:03am pOFb-air N@N P621 SD446 ag19
