Strength:
Great sound quality if the enclosure is properly constructed and tuned.
Weakness:
This driver is very tempermental on enclosures. For ported or vented use only. Do not use this sub in a sealed enclosure. This is a very good subwoofer. It is very efficient so it can be powered with a relativly low wattage amplifier. It can however handle a large amount of power. Encosure dimensions are very critical for this subwoofer. It it is not tuned correctly it will not perform well. Be sure to follow the specs for the driver. Also be sure to watch the low end cut off. If the driver is allowed to recieve low frequencies below the recommened cut off prepare to see the spider tear or pull away from the basket. It tuned properly this sub will play very very loud at low frequencies. It is a very good Idea to use a subsonic filter if you are not sure about the specs or enclosure tuning. It is a very heavy sub and is well built. It is not much to look at from the front side, but the back side will quickly let you know just how large of a sub this is. I have ran a solid 1000 watts to this sub at 68 hz for 45 sec and the driver showed no signs of damage. Higly recommended for experienced enclosure builders.
