JBL GT1241D is just too increadible. OVERALL in GENERAL as in my OPINION and I have 17 years old guy that goes to McAllen High School, Believe that sound was not built to abuse it. There are consequenses, one of them is hearing loss, second is breaking windows, and the other one is that others might not like bass or super loud music that'll distract them. I do have four JBL GT1241D subwoofers and 2 sets of MB Quarts BUT I don't abuse them at all, like a crazy man. Durham Pro Mobile Mechanic Weakness:

Weakness:
Caps out on the really low frequecies although this might be due to the fact that they're only 10's. The stupid straps they come with have to be pulled really tight to prevent them from moving back&forth in the trunk. Paid $229 (CAN) each for 'em at my local dealer. Similar Products Used: My first sub was a Nakamichi SP 1010 mounted in a giant box. It took up my whole trunk. |

I've had my RS-104s for about 8 months and I highly recommend it. But let me share with you how I was able to reach optimum low frenquencies. First, you will need a good sub-woofer amp to drive that bad boy. I'm using the Alpine V12. Placement of the sub is very critical. Since my sub is in the trunk, I have it in the corner (closest to the taillights) firing in the same direction. I have a pretty air tight trunk so I also had to cut out holes in my rear dash to get the bass in the car (the sub moves tremendous air). Then I covered up the holes in the rear dash with speaker grills given to me by the dealer. Then throw away the mickey mouse mounting straps it comes with. It doesn't work. I built a mounting board that's bolted to the car and bungee cord the sub to the mounting board, I needed the sub to be removable but when it's strapped in, it won't budge. So not only can I hear the bass but also, I can feel it. I listen to smooth jazz and I wanted a sub that wasn't boomy nor to be heard throughout my neighborhood. This sub picks up mid-bass around (120 hz) and will go down to the 25-35 hz range. So, if you need some bottom end to your music, I wouldn't hesitate to suggest the Bazooka RS-104. |

I HAVE A PAIR OF THESE SUBS IN MY VEHICLE, AND FOR A SUBWOOFER THAT I BOUGHT NEW IN A STORE STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, THEY ARE A BARGAIN AT 160 DOLLARS A PIECE.(CIVICS MUSIC STORE IN UTICA MI). I HAVE THEM RUNNING OFF AN OLD MTX THUNDER 2300, AND THEY SOUND PRETTY DESCENT, RELITAVELY ACCURATE, (A LITLLE MUDDY IN THE DEEPER RANGE), AND VERY EFFICIENT, YOU ONLY NEED 50 WATTS RMS TO ACHIEVE IMPRESSIVE SPL'S, EXPECIALLY FROM SUCH AN INEXPENSIVE SETUP. FOR EASE OF OPERATION , COST, AND DURABILITY, I GIVE THEM 5 STARS. FOR ACCURACY AND COSMETICS, I GIVE THEM 4 STARS. AN AVERAGE OF 4.5 NOT BAD FOR 160$ A PIECE |
