Strength:

unbelievable bass for great price and can handle tons of power

Weakness:

really none that i know of other than not real well known

i have a mtx 8100d amp running in a 2002 yukon.i have had 4 pairs of mtx 8000 series subs and blown the dust caps loose on all of them within a very short time with the correct size sealed box.Since then the mtx dealer i had dealt with exchanged them to me for the xtant x series subs "basically another mtx 8000 series sub just rated at more watts" and once again dust covers loose so instead of taking them back again i finally glued the dust caps from the font and have been satisfied with the way the sounded.killr bass for just 2 12's my buddy just purchased 4 autotek mx1022 subs in a ported box wired at a 1 ohm load.we hooked the 4 autoteks up in my yukon and hit extremely loud. so hard you could hardly even breathe sitting in the front seat when the bass hit. these subs are rated at only 500 watts but can handle way more.my amp has 14.5v running to it and the birth sheet on the amp was 1487 watts at a 2 ohm load at 14.5v. when we hooked them up they were at a 1 om load so it was putting some major power to the subs and they seemed to handle them great. in fact my xtants are for sale and i have 4 mx1222 on order.would reccomend them to anyone cant beat the price for the performance with any sub.

Strength:

Dual 2 ohm voice coils. Handles 500 watts, don't know if that's peak or rms. Spec sheet didn't say.

Weakness:

None

I tried this sub in a virtual technology vented enclosure, pushing it with a fosgate 500a2 in bridged mode, into a 4 ohm load. i like the dual 2 ohm coils, very versatile. The Autotek hit really low frequencies well but lacked a little in the 60-80 hz area. But that's not uncommon in this ported box as I found out later with the mtx 8000. But the 8000 reproduced more sub frequencies well, not just the 30-45 hz ones. I was offered the Autotek for $175, but got the mtx 8000 for $190. The Autotek did bottom out and pop a couple of times when I pushed it hard with bass, but the mtx 8000 couldn't be overworked. Still, the Autotek sounded good and would do well with a weaker amp pushing it.
