Considerable power consumption (550 RMS, 1100 Max), but not when compared to some high end subs.

This sub kicks hard and clear! I don't know how anyone could be displeased with it. My friend has a comparable 12" Rockford sub, and this one blows him away! If you are having problems with this sub then it must be the amp or the box, because it sounds awesome. I use this sub with a 1000W Sony X-plode amp (XM-21656TX) which pushes 400W RMS.

Uhhhhhhh, I suppose it could probably get loud and a little better sq if you put at least the RMS power to it. I didn't do that.

Not good sq at low power. Kinda ugly. The flames are sorta lame.

I bought this subwoofer without first listening to it. I took the guy's word that it had good sq. It sounded like dookie. Granted, he paired it with the Audiobahn A2401T amp which only pushes 280watts max, and this subwoofer has an RMS of 550. If I had put more power to it, it might have sounded better. I also tried out a JL 12W0 but I decided the Audiobahn sounded better. Finally, I decided to go with an Image Dynamics 1DQ12. It sounds waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the Audiobahn. Now I just need a better amp. :p
