Strength:

Phenomenal sound, excellent construction, low power requirements, and small box requirements.

Weakness:

Hard to find, dealers don't give much on price.

Overall, this is the finest sub I have heard to date. I have 2 12's in my car now. The reason I purchased them was that I only had 400 watts to work with from an Xtant 2200ix. Most of the high end subs out there need boatloads of power. These are perfectly happy with my 400 for the pair. Clean, accurate sound, just great. They also go extremely loud, my pair hit 140 dB underpowered in a well insulated sedan. I paid around $300 each, there were only 3 dealers in my state and none would really give much at all...

These are very good subs, but they require a large amplifier. My MTX 2300 isnt really enough for two of them, a 2300 for each does well (i have experimented). They are extremely tight, when installed in a well built box to correct specifications, and they get extremely loud. With two of them in my 1990 Mercury Cougar i hit a 147.8 at a competition. I have had a chance to listen to about 80% of stuff out there (i have judged at USAC events before) and i still like these subs. Definately worth trying out, if the pocketbook can afford it.

Strength:

-Very musical
-brutal output
-super efficient
-not overly heavy
-lovingly over-built
-not expensive
-(2) 6 ohm vc-wired in parallel are easy on amps
-everybody won't have one

Weakness:

-took a while to arrive (not Alumapro's fault)
-you'll stare at it for hours wondering if you should ever install it

This sub is a decathlete. It can do it all. Another reviewer said the Alchemy sounds like a great speaker that happens to put out lots of bass. Well put. And then there's texture to boot. Strings, brushes...It makes you grow up....play some rap and it goes "too easy." Play something challeging and it gets massive...I mean huge w/ no distortion, and only getting 250 watts (believe it wattage fiends). A single Alchemy sitting in less than a cubic ft. box will have you grinning like an idiot even at low volume b/c it's so clear. You'll love music more b/c you'll hear/feel things like never before. When the sub arrived, there was card signed (with different pens no less) by the guys who made it. First class.

There are a few subs that may be better but the Alchemy performs heroically with a little power, a little box and no fuss.

Strength:

Look pretty cool and hit o.k. Look to be good quality and durable for long lasting subs.

Weakness:

Not nearly what I expected for the price.

Subs hit pretty well but can't touch JL's. I have three 12's which I traded my three 12W6's on. The JL's are twice as deep and are louder. They also cost about $80 less. I ran an Extant1001dx to both sets at 1000w.

Similar Products Used:

JL's smoked them and so did two R.F. Power 15's.
