PUNCHY, and it's not even broken in yet!!!!!!!! Solid build, beefy. Dual voice coils allow versatile installation. Even at full retail I think this sub is a great deal. Audiophile sub for your car. Reminds me of a REL. This is a perfect sub for the critical listener.

Power hungry. You absolutely need big power for this guy. The Cadence Z1000 has only been coupled with it for a few hours and I can already tell that the r10s wants more power, more current, and more damping factor. It forces you to buy relative equipment to get the most out of it. One 10" just can't move enough air to sound effortless. Get two.

What a cool sub. I come from home audio where I deal with subs like M&K, Paradigm, Linn, REL, Bag End and the like. I was going to build myself a custom enclosure with a McCauley 6222, but I don't have the space for the box I would need. So I'm stuck with having to use a SMALL enclosure with a 10" driver. I went out and picked up the r10s and a Cadence Z1000 (temporary) to power it. I have the voice coils wired in parallel for a 2 ohm load. I made all the connections and put on "The Dope Show" by Marilyn Manson. I followed that up with track 1 from Breakbeat Era's "Ultra Obscene". Now know that I've been doing custom home installations fifty weeks a year for the past six-seven years. It's rare that I get a grin on my face these days from what I call a "real world" system. By that I mean one under $10-$20 thousand. But let me tell you, this sub is so punchy. It's very impressive. It can also get down there in hz. I'm going to get a second sub and a new amp (Zapco) in the near future. I got the Cadence to check out the line and because it was cheap to use temporarily.

Rubber binds in cold weather

This speaker is a very well built driver. The cone is quality material and the frame is bullet proof. Good low end extension and small box requirements. One big problem. In cold temperatures, the rubber surround stiffens up tight. Very common among lower end subs but this is a/d/s. Come on!

Good Solid Bass Response, very nice design, rock solid construction

A little expensive

I just got 2 of these subs from Car Stereo Express. These speakers costed me $300 for the pair. The week before I had just got some Orion XTR's but they developed a rattling sound so I took them back and got the A/D/S subs. I buitlt a custom box(1.8 cubic ft) for them in the back of my Civic Hatchback and they really wake you up in the morning when you hear them. I am running them off of a 475 Watt MTX 2400 amplifier but I think that I am going to need another amp due to my love for extremely loud music. The thing that I found most impressive about them was the punchy bass that they deliver. Compared to the Orions the A/D/S subs put the Orions to shame. I also had some MTX 6000s about a month ago but sold them to a friend. The MTX 6000s were OK but I like the A/D/S better. Overall I was very impressed with the subs and reccomend them to anyone.
