Cheap (these are often given away free with cheap stereos at circuit city). Better than having no speaker.

Not nearly as good as a mediocre real 2 way speaker. Inner black cone is easy to damage by mere touch.

These things are bottom of the barrel as far as speakers go. They have no tweeters so the highs are a bit muffled. The paper cones make for weak and distorted bass and the sound falls apart at high volumes.
