Strength:
Mids vocal middie hear more singing better then Mb quarts tweets not a harsh as MBs, with rubber surrounds!!!!!! crossover nice, and well constructed screw in inputs
Weakness:
I dont like the mounting hardware grills. DAT speakers are the best built comps i have used. The mids made out of alum and is vocal and tight bass. The alum tweeter is extremmly clean, not as loud as Mb quarts tweeter, but not as harsh also.xover is big and well constructed.DAT is very good quality for the price I paid for, I would have paid about 700 for the Mb quart Q's.I love these speakers well worth my money. warm mids clean tweeters good Xover great craftmenship!!!
Weakness:
no stock mounting grill like other speakers. But its not a big problem, just takes a little more time to install Diamond m551 is a great comp system,It is well worth the money you spend it.The sound of the mids are very vocal, and very clean. The alum tweeter can be harsh but if adjusted to -3db, they are perfect in everyway detailed and clean. These speakers are well worth the money!!!! I HAVE A BRAND NEW IN THE BOX SETS M551 FOR SELL,with warranty with DAT, $160. email me if your interested!!!thanks Similar Products Used: Orion Hcca comps, MB quart RSB, |

Strength:
power handling, looks, very well built, good mids but tweeters are more on the bright side, shallow mount and if its installed by a dealer the warranty is 3 yrs!
Weakness:
the worst thing?? the tweeters but its ok. crossover is a bit to big (made for showing off) @$290.00 even it cant be beat. yeah theres better spkrs out there but im on a budget. sounds pretty damn good to me! aluminum tweeters are a bit to bright but not like mb quarts or boston pros (they cost more too). IMO its not as durabal as titanium. silk comes in the hex models(alot smoother). the mids is sweet! not punchy or a tauty bass 5 incher but its warm and smooth compared to a/d/s. Similar Products Used: a/d/s,boston pros,quarts....beats them all but close to a/d/s. |

Strength:
Power handling, crisp, clear highs.
Weakness:
Too bright, harsh highs and mids, lack of musicality. I'm going to adjust the crossovers to see if I can find comfort, but right now, I want my money back! Acting on advice from several professionals, I started by adding an Xtant 603x power amp, Boston Pro 10" sub, and MB Quart crossovers to the factory head unit and speakers. The system sounded good, but there were some workmanship, configuration, noise, and high-volume distortion issues to be resolved. I decided to upgrade to the Diamond component speakers in the front doors when I brought the car in to correct the bad install. Right now it appears I've spent $495.00 (incl istall) to make the system sound worse! The dealer's attitude has been great so far, so I'm positive re the final outcome, but I'm sorry I chose these speakers. Similar Products Used: The BMW factory speakers (made by Nokia) sound better, though they distort at lower levels than the Diamonds. |

This component set is the best I have ever heard. I don't know what this guy is talking about. He must be a BMW rep or something sheesh. After putting these speakers in my car, I have yet to hear anything else that sounds even close to the quality of Diamond Audio M5 series (except of course their hex series):) I love these speakers and if anyone ever steals them out of my car, I will come after them with my .357.
Weakness:
Is sounding too good a weakness? Diamond is the best. That's no lie. Similar Products Used: Focal polykevlars, JL Audio xr series, Boston Acoustics, MB Quarts. |

Strength:
So smooth, and detailed, shallow mounting depth,
Weakness:
slighly sharp highs, but that's mostly from my install. MB Quarts are much harsher. I couldn't afford the hex silk dome. This is the best upgrade I've made so far to my vehicle. Really incredible. People tell me that they rarely hear systems this good in homes. At first I had them running of deck power, and they still sounded sweet. You can adjust the crossover to have -2db on the tweets, which I have done. Similar Products Used: Boston Acoustics Rally, JL Audio components, Sony XPLODs - No question the Diamonds are the best I've used. |

Strength:
mag-aluminum woofer cone for tight bass, very high quality, shallow mounting depth , aluminum tweeter has good mounting kit with it, cross over are really cool looking
Weakness:
should have started the company about 20 years ago instead of in 1995 These are the best set of speakers i have ever heard they are crystal clear no other brand of speakers even comes close to these. the sound stage of these speakers is amazing. they will only distort at extreamly loud levels you will need ear plug in at that level or you ears will be ringing for about a week or so Similar Products Used: Boston,JLaudio,MBQuart,Alpine,JBL none of these can even touch Diamond's performance |
