Paid $90 for the pair - would recomend for use with a head unit or small amp preferably.

Strength:

Good sound quality, low cost (especially if you get them from a friend)

Weakness:

Low power handling capability, slightly muddy sound

This is a good speaker for someone that doesn't listen at very high volume levels as it tends to distort. They are better speakers than the Pioneers I had, but if you have the money, I'd really suggest going with Infinity Kappa speakers. They can handle high powere and just sound beautiful.

Infinity Kappa 693.1 and a set of Pioneer 6x9s

Strength:

These speakers are awesome. They give me low, tight bass when i need the to and dont easily distort. I couldn't ask for better highs or mids. My friends swear I have a 10 or 12 in the trunk.

Weakness:

At higher volumes the sound quality may drift, but that could be due to my soon to be replaced factory receiver.

I am giving each speaker 50 watts rms from a Kenwood KAC-848 and the sq is wonderful so long as I dont try to treat them like subwoofers. Really nice bass up to moderately high volume levels. If you are going to get a pair of 6x9's you had better get these speakers. If there are better 6x9's let's hear em'...and how much they cost. $90 for mine. I couldn't ask for better performance from 6x9's.

Haven't heard another 6x9 yet with the same level of sq or frequency response.

Strength:

Good sound. Great Highs and good bass. Excellent for a head units with no amp.

Weakness:

Not the best when used with an amp. Sounds seems to decline as power and volume get too high.

I tried them in small boxes to try to coax some more bass out of them. They seem to do better in a free air situation. Mid and High range are incredible for the price I paid. I was very pleased with the quality and would buy them again if I had to do it over agian.

These C-V's sound better than all Pioneer 6x9's. Better than the Clarion series.
