Strength:

In general, wonderful, wonderful component speakers.
Good to fabulous power handling. Very clear and precise
thru the sound frequencies. Near perfect when used as
mid to high range.

Weakness:

The power capability isn't as good as the ProSeries version,
but hey, you get wat you pay for. The msrp is actually 230.
Note above says 150... where did that guy go? I wanna know.
Actually, I paid around there... 165 or so w/ tax. :)
I like everything about these speakers. Quality is the keyword here.

If you are running some subs then this would be a perfect compliment as a component mid to high range set of speakers. I'm sure it would handle fine as a full-range system too. They come is all possible sizes, so if you are fortunate to have larger openings like 5.25 and 6.5, then go for it. The tweeters will be the same, but the larger the woofer, the deeper the notes. My car has 4 inch openings... so hence, I had no choice but to get the 4 inch components. You can always cut though. The way mine are mounted, it was impossible to get anything larger and I had to ask my happy installer to make a custom mount- damn bimmers... I love it, really.
The package comes with everything you need to mount the tweeters however you want, crossovers for the system, and cute little grills that you probably won't use... ah well.
Here's the idea when you buy these speakers. You basically have two choices, to chose between the rally and proseries components sets. Unless you have a powerplant for an amplifier, there won't be a noticeable difference- really. Woofer wise anyways. I noticed a good difference between the 5t ProSeries tweeter and the 2r Rally Tweeter... hmmm, see review on 5t Tweeters... :) more good info for ya.
In case you are wondering what toys I put together for my system, I'll let you know so you can pick the best out and make yours even better.
Although, if you ask me, I think I did good ;) u can decide though
In the front of the car are a pair of Infinity References 5.25 components. Along with a pair of Boston 5t ProSeries Tweeters... :) :) :) :)
In the rear are my Boston RC41 Rally System. With 5t tweeters instead of the 2r, be really nice to your installer... actually we forgot to put the crossovers on the rally tweeters so we were runnin'em full range, they actually handled real well until the volume hit 30 on the dash, then both said bye-bye... a tragedy. [Don't worry! this can't happen if you install it right, we had deep bass notes going into my poor tweeters, i'm surprised they handled that long] But hey, when it came time to replace, the older brother (5t) took over... and this time, we made sure the crossover was plugged in.
The subs I have are 2 JL 10 inch W0 in a premade powerwedge box. Damn good for price and perks. SPL is grrr...ate for class bracket. If u have more cash to shell out, consider the W3, also made by JL. Other quality subs I would have got, and may still get are the POLK MOMOs, the Infinity PERFECTS, and the MTX 8000 series.
I have one amplifier running the entire system: an Alpine MRV-F357
specs for this is 30x4 rms @ 12v + a 100 rms subwoofer channel
u actually get a better amp then this. mine is rated:
37.5x4 + 115 or so, respectively.
I'm a happy camper with this amount of power. If you are insane or wish to lose hearing early, then find the T-CLASS version with 75x4 rms @ 12v + 250 rms sub channel- caution: expensive.
Ah, for the head unit. Make sure you have one or get one with 3 4v+ preouts!!!! it will make a very good difference opposed to a 1.5 or 2v preout, if you have a sub, u definitely want the 3rd non-fading preout to control it separately, trust me.
I had an Alpine, I don't remember the model #, its was great though.
I wanted to upgrade to an Alpine FantomFace CDA-7969 or CDA-7967, but
my order was taking too long... 3 months. And the darn thing is still not out yet!!!!(note today's date: 13 June 2000) So I ended up going with a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X815. Has everything and more than the Alpine FantomFace would have expect the 7-channel built in EQ. Damn, that would be nice. Surprisingly, the Kenwood has thus far met my expectations, and I have high ones, believe me.
I hope this was helpful. I'll be posting reviews for the rest of my system components when time allows me to. If you by chance have a Bimmer, check out some of my car performance/upgrade reviews. Have a nice day.

Strength:

Very good mid bass. Very clear highs.
Sound is excellent even though only driven by standard 4 x 25 watts head unit.
Long lasting speakers (have been used for about 6 years with no sound quality reduction).

Weakness:

None

I bought my RC41 and RC51 in early 1995, at the same time with the head unit (Pioneer KEH 7005 and CD changer (Pioneer CDX 1210).

I owned a Suzuki Sidekick (4 passengers SUV). The 4.5 mids are mounted to the original bracket inside the dashboard, the tweeters is mounted at the windshield corner.
The 5.5 woofers and tweeters are wooden mounted on the left and right panel behind the back seat.

In 1998 I sold the Side Kick, I moved all system to a bigger car, Isuzu (9 passenger SUV), the installation system work ok.

In 2000, I sold the Isuzu and bought a new Toyota (8 passenger SUV), I moved all system to this car.

To the last two cars, all speakers are mounted to the original bracket
provided by the car manufacturer.

I loved this combination, overall they are excellent. They all work fantastic for small, medium and big size car. I only need to put into eight scale on my head unit (sometimes only six scale, from maximum 30 and I don't need any power amp to drive them) to get the great sound. I hear many classical, jazz, solo piano even Queen. These speakers work excellent. If you want more deeper bass, you may add a 10" sub.

I really recommend these speakers for quality sound.
