Strength:

Performance @ Price Clean SQ

Weakness:

need amp to do any justice to them, not overpowered or you'll blow it.

Great speakers. I started off driving these off the ***p 4x15W clarion factory head unit...didn't like it at all. Then I got more serious, balanced with Alpine Component speakers in the front and alpine head + 4 channel alpine amp....sweet as a nut. no distortion until you push it really high...good clean bass response.

Strength:

Clear sound, doesn't get muddy, good bass response

Weakness:

crappy without power; easy to go deaf because you want everyone to hear your clean clear sound

Very decent speakers, as long as you have enough watts to 'em. I have a JVC 50x4, 19rms, without the amp my speakers sounded like factory crap, distorting at not-that-loud volumes, and hurting themselves. With an MTX putting a bit more RMS juice to 'em, my mirror vibrates and my head hurts. Thankfully I only have 60rms going to 'em or I'd be going deaf at a faster rate than I am now:)

Strength:

Good lows if surrounding area is deadened and buckets installed.

Weakness:

I think mabye next time I will stick with a two-way..as I will be putting subs in later and really dont need the expanded bass output from the rear deck.

I installed these speakers in the rear deck of my car about 2 mths ago. Layed down some Brown-Bread and enclosed them in the the foam bucket...they have been mistaken for subs on several occasions! I am only running them off my deck Clarion DXZ715 right now..but they seem pretty good...only starting to distort at levels higher than I care to listen to anyway. I will be hooking them up to an amp shortly and will see what they can get up and down to. In the front I am running the 605cs and they seem to be a great match...plus with the price that I payed...how can you go wrong ;)

Strength:

Clarity. Excellent mid range and sweet treble. Bass is tight.

Weakness:

Bass a little weak on balance.

I''m using these speakers to give some rear fill, driving them off a sony amp. With the high pass filter on they give sweet mids and clear treble, only distorting at very high volumes. Bass response could be better but what they give is tight and well defined. When properly used they are definately a worth while purchase. Compared to the kenwood 6 + 9 s'' i had previously they are brilliant.

Everything. Try to use with an amp.

Weakness:

none

I really don''t know what these other guys are talking about. These speakers sound decent with an aftermarket head unit, but when amplified with my Alpine amp, they began to shine. Lots of bass, clean crisp highs, and a whole lot more. i work at CC and talked to the infinity rep, and he said the reason the cones crumbled was because a large amount of speakers were shipped without the UV protection layer. So there! Definitely a worthy purchase.

Strength:

decent sound when amped properly

Weakness:

quality not as expected
a little overpriced

These are overrated. I blew them out without really trying. They sound much better amped (i used an MTX thunder 102). They had decent bass and good mids and highs when amped. They are not at all impressive when powered by an aftermarket receiver. They are ok for replacing factory speakers but there are better out there for the price. My old pioneer 6x9 sounded much better overall (surprisingly...). I will say they were better than the sony 6x9's i had.

Strength:

good sounding highs

Weakness:

cant handle near that 300 watts. a lot of midrange distortion at high volumes.the bass could be better.not the best for high sound pressure levels.

I have an awesome 5 channel clarion amp which i got from crutchfield for 250 instead of $500.i have it hooked up to the infinity 6x9 in the back and it is not even turned up halfway and my highs start to distort once i put it past 23 on my cd player. very over rated product.

Bass, Highs very weak. Cone crumbled under heavy bass usage!

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. The cone crumbled like an egg shell--literally--after 2 months of use with lots of bass. The power wasn't anywhere near they're capabilities either (I was supplying 50 watts peak, and they handle 300!). The bass was quite weak anyhow, and the highs became very glaring above about 1000Hz. While they were an improvement above my factory speakers, they were nowhere near my expectations for infinity's reputation.

My advice--purchase only to replace factory system. But if you want a high-end system, for competitions or just to show off, THESE ARE NOT FOR YOU!
