Strength:

Multiple scrambling ability.

Weakness:

Radar detection could be better.

First off, it's a crying shame that Rocky Mountain Radar gets bashed for their products. This company was the first to discover and detect POP radar. Nobody gave them any credit whatsoever. I've owned these units for over 10 years and they are worth 10 times the price there being sold for. Recently the FCC conducted an independent test on these units and found they definiely work. Radar Roy should be ashamed that he conducted a bogus road test using the RMR- C450. I'll never purchase any of his products again. If you don't own one, I would highly advise you to invest in one of these units. Try the Phazer II (S201) out and once you get hooked, move up to the RMR-C450. I promise that you won't be disappointed. To all the critics, get a life!

Strength:

quick accurate detection and effective scrambling

Weakness:

looks cheap but isn't :P

I have owned the rmr-c430 for years now and have personally witnessed it scrambling the speed meters on the side of the road that display your speed in big lite-brite style numbers (town roads as well as interstate roads, at various speeds)I have watched as I was the only vehicle to approach these things and my speed was not displayed (the the detector was lighting up indicating K or Ka band)until I was with in 150 ft of them. Which if one reads the literature provided with the product, you would see that when you are with in 150 of the radar, that is when they punch through. The detector will give you plenty of notice to slow down. If you do not, that is your choice. The rmr-c430 has saved me from many many many many tickets. However if the officer does not have his radar running while you approach and he "zapps" you when you are with in 150 ft, you are busted. If you are going fast enough to catch his attention, you were probably busted with out the radar, it is just used to seal the deal.

Strength:

Detects most radar and laser

Weakness:

Does not scramble. Gives you a false sense of security. False advertising.

This so called scrambler does not work at all. It is falsely advertised by Rock Mountain Radar. I sent them an e-mail stating such and this was their reply:

Rocky Mountain Radar Monday, March 6, 2006 6:37:15

Comments: I purchased your RMR-C430 and promptly got a ticket. Your advertised scrambler does not work at all as I have come to learn after reading many dissatisfied customer's complaints. Of course, you are protected from any payment of my ticket since I was traveling 15 mph over the speed limit. You are falsely advertising this product and I hope you are shut down.

Thanks for your comments..it is surprising how many people get their own opinions from others. Too bad you failed to read the instructions or you would have been responsible enough to use this tool to avoid a ticket. We're still growing 30% per year while your internet buddies are losing market share to...guess who? That's right, to us.
