Model Reviewed:
Passport SR1
Strength:
Due to the size of the display it can be hidden with ease, and can be mounted horizontally or vertically. Kit comes with an overlay for vertical mounting. All high quality workmanship, and utilizes phone type jack connections. No crimping/soldering needed.
Weakness:
Cost on this unit can vary from $400-$1000. The unit lacks high sensitivity KA Superwide. It laso lacks the cloaking from VG2 units, although it does reject VG2. Installation instructions are skimpy, since they prefer you go to an authorized dealer to have it installed. This is the first remote radar detection product I purchased. I have tried Uniden,Bel,Cobra etc. and am partial to Escort Products. Installation was performed by myself and a mechanic that is familiar with after market installations. Rear Laser sensor a snap to install, front sensor took longer than expected. It takes a while to decide on the location since you want to combine stealth and an accurate reading of the road. Overall I would recommend it to anyone that doesn''t like clutter on the dash/visor and wants good radar/laser protection. Similar Products Used: I never used remote devices, but have experienced dozens of other detectors. |
