ease of use, good xand k detection

pathetic ka detection non exsistant

good range on x and k band, after not picking up ka 3 times until i could see the troopers eyes i took mine back!! did some research bought the bel 980 off the internet for 225 and this detector beats the escort hands down, maybe a little weaker on x band but i could care less, both picks up x fase alarms in the city but the higway is my biggest concern and the bel is a better detector that i found for less money

I know this isn't a true forum here, but I just had to ask. Paul from Virginia, you said you had a SOLO and it got picked up by VG2? Where in any ad does it say that the SOLO is immune from detection by VG2? IT DOESN'T. That's the later models like the 8500. No false advertising claim there buddy. And for those complaining about KA detection, try the 8500. It picks up DIGITAL KA which is what most new radar guns are. The 7500 will not pick up the new digitals.

Easy to configure, decent size

Does not detect K or Ka band well; so poor you almost don't get a warning

Lame! This product is well-designed and easy to use - except that it doesn't detect radar very well. My old Bel had much better sensitivity to both K and Ka band than this detector (which cost more). I'm underwhelmed...However, I just gave Escort another chance and purchased a Passport 8500, and it is COMPLETELY different - the BEST radar detector I've ever owned by far.

this thing sux ass
it goes off randomly wherever I drive even with auto mode
it also randomly turns off if I bump it around by accident
I have it mounted right above my rear view mirror, any time I adjust the volume it turns off and on
