Strength:
Typical Sony CD sound, CD Text, power, D-Bass function, flashy features (like colour-changing backlight), removeable faceplate, good radio reception (gets more stations than my Yamaha reciever @ home), plenty of in/out options, upgradability.
Weakness:
D-Bass (this only applies to highest setting), older display (dot-matrix is nicer, but I guess would boost the price), won't play CD-RW Overall, a great unit - the salesman told me this is a mobile ES unit that was once $450 CDN - I can ery much believe this after hearing it! Sounds great, has plenty of slam, and picks up on all the smaller details in the sound. Cd-Text is cool to use (especially if you have a CD-R) Similar Products Used: A Panasonic deck which I originally purchsed and was replaced after the 3rd unit for this sony - a smoother sound when/if it actually worked |
