Strength:

Great layout, EEQ, power output, preamp voltage, volume knob, built in x-over, subwoofer outs and level control.

Weakness:

Buttons could be a little bigger, it is a little hard to see which preset eq setting it is on at a glance in traffic (when you adjust it the words are easily read, it is the little indicators that are hard to see)

So far it has been wonderful. Does not skip at all, has great power. The Tuner reception is about equal to my alpine. I love the EEQ feature! Just a click of the outer knob right or left moves the EEQ from one preset to the next and back. I also like that you can control the amount of loudness that the loudness button creates. The Crossovers are great! Would recommend this to anyone!

Strength:

Display, looks, eazy to use, EQ, good sound and that little car alarm thing. also from what owners told me they never have anything go wrong with Premiers

Weakness:

If you change the CD in CD mode, it will shut it self off right after it boots the CD

I got is Premier for $170 (at cost) so I have nothing bad to say about this product.
I have 2 Boston Acustics RX57s in front and B/A RX67 in the back (I would of bought bigger B/As if Honda make more speaker room when upgrading their cheap paper speakers in Accords). ok the DEHP520 sound very good for those small 6 inch speakers. The optional remote is a BIG PLUS.
PS Get the remote.

I got really good bass off of my B/As, choose your speakers carfully

Model Reviewed: 2000 Premier DEH-P520

Strength:

Built in EQ with 5 presets, hi and low pass with sub crossovers, three pre outs and head power of 45x4. This is great looking deck with numerous features.

Weakness:

Display in direct sunlight and small buttons. I recommend the SR77 steering wheel remote I wouldn't be without it.

Great head power, eq and crossover makes this deck tremendous also a pretty elegant looking piece of equipment. There is no better buy for the money. I would recommend this deck to anyone.

Model Reviewed: Pioner DEH 5250

Strength:

Parametric EQ
Presets
Separate adjustments for Radio and CD
SLA, because as usual CDs and FM have different levels
Subwoofer control
FIE to move stage ahead, very helpful, even with external PA.
Rotary knob (much more better than buttons)
And finally, sound is great

Weakness:

Display is not good visible daytime, has no contrast adjustment (comp. to Kenwood)
CD is sensible to dust
Very attractive to theft (mine was stolen after half a year)

Very good cd player for reasonable price.
It's compromised solution between cheap series of Pioneer and high states of the art for lot of money.
I didn't want to pay more for OEL (dolphins) about 100$, so it's wise solution for people, counting their money.
CD is very resistant to vibrations, so i hadn't see any breaks, when listening to it.
Menu is great, better than in Kenwood, remote is just a slim card type, works fine. So, in head units Pioneer is pioneer...
