Strength:

What is there to NOT like about this product!?! It has everything! Aside from the graphics, you have 3 seperate ports for amplifiers, an optional cell phone hook up (the unit mutes itself and relays the call through the speakers... how cool is that?) It plays CD-R discs and probably the best thing about this system... it DOESN'T SKIP... I don't know if I can say that strongly enough. I've been over just about EVERY road surface you can think of and this thing doesn't miss a single beat! I paid $315 for it on an auction but for what it offers, the $470 price tag is worth it. You may never need to buy another cd head unit for as long as you own your vehicle!!!

Weakness:

hmmm... ... nothing quite comes to mind

I paid $315 for it on an auction but for what it offers, the $470 price tag is well worth it. You may never need to buy another cd head unit for as long as you own your vehicle!!! If you are looking to seriously upgrade your current car audio system, then THIS is the unit you want, trust me on this one.

Strength:

Everything. Nuff features. Ability to control most of the functions via remote. Even in bright sunlight, display is much better comparable to plenty head units out there. I just luv everything and if I start to give detailed reasons, I'll be online the whole day.

Weakness:

None. Absolutely None.

I am not over rating the product. Just the hardcore facts. First, This radio does not skip. If U don't believe, ask me more. I have looked at the ruggedness and the face plate is designed for ruggedness. For a radio fanatic like me, features and more features. HPF and LPF, various boost adjustments, Q-factor adjustments in EQ steeings, RDS for the radio and the choice to search by frequency or the type of music U desire, text I/P for CD and text recall(if CD is not texted), ability to read texted CDs(plus it scrolls), Radio text for tuner(if station carrys code for this) plus the displays........funderful. Plus U can add the extension BUS cable to play tapes like me. Oops, I forgot to mention it has an alarm. Yes, it does and with a relay or two, U can get this alarm pumped up. If U wanna know how to wire the relays, ask me. I think 4 the price, it's more than worth it. Can U believe I paid $304.00 for this gadget? Pioneer is definitely at its peak of engineering and 4 ladies looking at men to show off at them, one look at the DEH-8200R will definitely yearn your appetite.
As 4 Alpine or Eclipse ...............:-(
Good work Pioneer engineers and I hope to join U guys someday

Cannot be compared with anything except the 9200R. And even apart from the motorized face, apparent wide screen display, date display(big deal) and 6V preout as to the 4V preout(no big deal 4 niose compensation), the settings display screens are the same size 4 both. Can't even be compared with the top of the line Kenwood excelon. Alpine and Eclipse......:-(

Strength:

good graphics and good eq great amp for components and good tuner.

Weakness:

the sub control is a little difficult to get to.the price is a little high.

all in all i think this cd head unit is not all what everyone thinks it is.the reaosn everyone likes it so much is because of the 3d graphics and stuff.for the average car audio guy they will think this is an awesome cd player but for the $ you can get the same or better units for less without the graphics.

Strength:

Great visual effects! The 3d graphics are outstanding compared to any other deck I've seen. The sound quality is excellent, and has many audio/visual/misc features that greatly enhance the product.

Weakness:

None

I got a good deal on this product, retail is $470 on this, but I bought this at a auction and paid $326. I haven't used it too much yet, but so far I don't see anything to complain about. As I said this head unit is packed with features, and for me atleast was worth the money. I plan to be upgrading my system gradually and this is a great start. This is also a great unit to show off to friends. To many, this will put them in awe at what this head can accomplish, especially graphically! As you can guess I highly recommend this product to anybody who has the money(and isn't technologically challenged).
