Strength:
Graphics are great and never get boring. I could watch the screen for hours.
Weakness:
can't change the button colors from green to amber. Well worth the money. I replaced my old cassette player with this unit and have never been happier. The graphics keep you from a borning LED stereo display. Similar Products Used: Pioneer Cassette Player, 12 Disc Changer |

WOW! This CD receiver is awesome, the sound is great and the Organic Electroluminescence Display (Organic EL) will make you want to buy this baby. It's a visual treat! This model is the first CD receiver to use an Organic EL display. It's got it's own full-motion multicolored 3D animated graphics. |

If you're looking for a great CD player this one is it. I own this deck and it does great keeping unwanted frequency's from my Infinity Kappa's for the highs and does an awsome job with my Subs. |

Strength:
As far as the organic EL display goes, not one person who has stepped into my car has not ooed and awed at the awesome 3D graphics this headunit puts out. Then, I show them the other 3D graphics and the oohs and awes get louder. It's also got plenty of features which I probably will never use in my lifetime, but are quite beneficial when I want to add components. Another good thing about this headunit is that it puts out close to 5 volts a preout, compared to the most headunits which put out a measly 2.2 volts.
Weakness:
It's tough to read the display in the sunlight. Although I've heard that the new DEH-9200 has the ultra organic EL display, so that problem should be fixed in the newer models. Definitely recommend this headunit. This unit has made a believer out of me for pioneer and I tend to stick with their headunits till I die. Similar Products Used: Compared to Alpine headunits, Sony headunits, and another lower-model pioneer, this one rocks. You pay for what you get. Unless you're gonna pay close to $500 for an alpine, sony, pioneer, eclipse... etc, you're not going to beat the quality of this one. |

DEH-P8000R
Strength:
Very cool deck...lots of features. My old deck (P835R) got stolen, so insurance covered my 8000 (I had a $250 deductible though).
Weakness:
The display/head unit is FUBAR'd. I've had it for more than a year, so I'm screwed. When I try to use my remote to change freqs or cds, it gets confused and does other things...but I can't tell because the display is shot (looks like I'm watching static on tv). It rocks...however, I think Pioneer would gain a lot more satisfied customers if they lengthened the warranty...at least for the organic display. Similar Products Used: Much better than the P835 |

Strength:
Almost 5 volts, # or pre-outs, sound clarity, total system control
Weakness:
The display "cut-out" on me once, but was easily and effortlessly fixed by cleaning the contacts I wanted a high quality sound system in my car without paying super high prices. I was discouraged from buying the copper-chassised Eclipse deck seen in many cars that have taken awards from from the IASCA tournies because of it's price. Instead, I was shown the DEH-P8000R and instantly fell in love (my pocket did too). I pretty much got everything I wanted in an in-dash unit and didn't have to give up my right arm for it. Output is very respectable at 5 volts and the number of RCA's is something that makes system expansion easy (and cheap). I have had only one problem with the unit, once the display "cut in half" on me and I began to worry. But what I thought would be an expensive repair/replacement actually turned out to be a "dirty contact." I simply cleaned the contacts with a regular pencil eraser (very carefully) and all is well now. I have no signs of display burn even though its been in use almost 2 years and seen more than 4000 hours of use. I am very pleased with this product and would defiantely recommend it to any one looking for a nice head unit. Similar Products Used: Probably the best head unit available from any local retailer |
