Pioneer DEH-P7300 CD Receivers

Pioneer DEH-P7300 CD Receivers

DESCRIPTION

50 Watts x 4, Pioneer's legendary Supertuner III, and it's XM Ready. A flap face with an Organic EL display featuring a spectrum analyzer. 3 Hi-Volt RCA pre-outs for your monster amp, plus it's changer-ready. A hands-free cell phone input and cellular/navigation mute interface.......OK, that's what I thought: it's a Pioneer.

Strength:

lots of cool features. screensavers. very bright display.

Weakness:

no motorized face. all the seetings can get complicated, especially when you don't have much experience with car audio. have to flip face down to change cds.

this is the first piece of an on-going project to completely overhaul my car audio system. compared to the crappy sony deck that was in the car when i got it, the pioneer is awesome. it makes my stock speakers sound ten times better than the sony. yeah i know stock speakers suck, which is why i'm in the process of upgrading them. i also got a really good deal on the deck. pioneer's suggested price is $410 and i got mine for $277. i like the remote too. makes it very easy to drive and change tracks or stations without having to look down. the unit is also very bright (at the highest brightness setting). it can bee seen fairly easily in direct sunlight that comes in from my sun roof. at night it lights up the front of the car nicely.

i also kept in mine upgrade possibilites when i got it. it has front, rear, and sub 4v preamp outputs. lots of tweaking ability too. i've barely scratched the surface with the different equalizer settings and crossovers.

Strength:

Good competition options,many screensavers

Weakness:

Horrible sound quality, lack of motorized face and seperate remot trun on lead for amps

I had this unit for excatly one week. I did not like it. I loved all the features and gadgets, like the adjustable eq, and high pass and low pass filters. The unit had greatly detailed graphics and a host of screensavers. However, all of these great competition grade features did not impress me. The sound was terrible, it lacked detail and warmth. The unit also does not have a moterized face, or a seperate amp turn on lead, so my power attenna did not go down while playing CD's, I also would have liked a choice in button illumination. Despite the picky things I have found to complane about on this unit, I felt it was a good buy, and had many upstanding and impressive features. I am just picky, infact after a week or so with this head unit, I returned itto Best Buy and got the Clarion Pro DXZ716, I returned this one for its sensitive laser pick-up and then purchased the new Sony Xplod CDX-CA850X, the one with the L3 faceplate design, I returned this one too for lack of a pause button and lack of easy operation. I now am awaiting my refund check from Best Buy, and with it I plain to get the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X717, this line of receiver I have found is the "perfect" choice for anybody seeking compettition quaility, and unlimited options, if I don't like this one I will return and get an Alpine.

Strength:

10 visuals + excellent sound + what else do you want?

Weakness:

the faceplate is hard to put back on, can't think of anything else yet

I've wanted to buy this cd-receiver for a long time, and finally I found the best deal on it on ebay. Got a brand new 7300 for only $249 + $10 shipping. The unit has impressed me since the first time I saw it. Everyone who I talked to advised me that pioneer's got the best sound of all other competitors, except maybe alpine but I didn't like the looks of alpine. The quality of my speakers increased to much, I couldn't believe it, I can hear the bass now after I replaced my old blaupunkt. The visuals are breath-taking and the remote is small and cool. Get this!

Strength:

looks, adjustability, power and great display.

Weakness:

Lack of moterized faceplate---moterized with angles (like the alpine units) would help with eliminate all sun glare. Navigating around all the controls can be overwhelming for first time users. Sounds better than most decks out there other than a few of the high end Alpines available.

Very surprising sound quality! At first its very difficult to fine tune, but with some reading of the manual everything can be dialed in perfect. Lots of cool colorful displays, parametric e.q., and tonnes of other fine tuning available! Strong coloring of the display helps seeing everything with sun glare.

For anyone with a moderately upgraded stereo system right up to a pure high end system this is the deck! Though I wouldn't recommend this for a first time c.d. receiver purchase.

Strength:

Many options, cool Organic EL display, 3 preamp outputs, sub controls, onboard amp is pretty good, plays CD-R/CR-RW, great all-around sound.

Weakness:

Hard to see screen when sun is shining on it, no scrolling CD-TEXT, the options can be somewhat confusing for a newbie.

Great all around CD Player, one of the best, if not the best in its price range. My favorite CD Player of all that I have used.

Similar Products Used:

Aiwa CDC-X507M, Kenwood KDC-8015, this Pioneer deck sounds much better, and has many more useful features than the Aiwa deck, but the deck seem to match up a little better with the Kenwood deck, although I like the sound of the Pioneer deck more.

Strength:

Many, many options to fine tune the sound. Separate control for the sub. Very high-quality sound.

Weakness:

Display is very hard to see if sun is shining directly on it. I drive west to work in the morning, and of course east in the evening, so it is hard to see the display at those times becuase of the sun.

I have been extremely please with this product. I am using component speakers in the front and 2 10" subs in the trunk, and the Pioneer allows me to blend these perfectly. It plays CD-R and yes, even CD-R/W's perfectly, even though playing CD-R/W is not one of its marketing claims. Buy this product if you want awesome sound and want great quality for the price. I'm not much into competition audio, but people who are say my setup is awesome. The lack of motorized faceplate isn't that much of a pain, and the detachable face is easy to put on once you get the hang of it.

Plays CDRW!!! + cdr EVERYTIME WITH CDTEXT

Weakness:

none i can think of other than no RDS and no scrolling cd-text. Yes it supports it but it doesnt scroll

BUY BUY BUY

Bought this as the head unit was the very latest creation from pionner and was not yet avaliable here in the uk. A very nice head unit with lots of pre-outs and ver expandable. Made stock speakers soo soo muc better. They didnt stay in for long. Love all the feature especially the sfeq which sends higher frequencies to front, lower to the back. the stock on board amp is great only starts to distort at about 50/62 which is well over 3 quarters of full volume, and at that volume its more that lound enough. Onlt downside is no RDS. here in england we have rds service and pionner have just released rds version of this top notch head unit the deh-7300R, it also comes with selectable red/green display which would have been nice, but not a nessecity, and nor the rds. Well that is 4 sale over here for 400 squid about 500 US so im not complaning as im not paying 200 more for pretty lights and rds, besides it already has pretty lights, its got an OEL hasnt it :)
