Strength:
Best thing about this deck is the EQ. Gives great options to enhance the music played.
Weakness:
Like everyone else commented. Eject CD and powers off. (So switch to radio and then eject CD) For the money, this is a good buy. I work for a nation wide retailer and got an awesome deal so it was all the better for me. The power output is more than suitable for any stock speakers I've seen. If you change speakers I would recomend an amp as well for optimal performance. |

Strength:
dollar for dollar this is the best cd player out there...first it has 45x4 peak power supplied by a mosfet amp which really pushes speakers to the limit. Second the "dfs" alarm is great it saves you the hassle and money of getting an alarm. third the 6band equilizer is great from hard hitting bass to crisp highs and mids. and also i have never had a cd skip.....
Weakness:
the down fall is that when ejecting a cd it doesnt default to the radio and at night time it makes it almost impossible to put a cd in with turnin your dome light on because there is no backlight. and also the detachable face plate is alittle hard to get off it feels like its gonna break.. I got a great deal i paid $190 at curcuit city but it can also be found at www.insaneaudio.com for a great price of 199.00 i recommend this cd player for anyone serious about great sound and performce. Strength:
It is an excellent unit. Sound, performnce, and value are all just as well.
Weakness:
Turns off when cd is ejected. Purchased for about $200/$220 at Ubid.com Similar Products Used: Get the DEP-H4000, its worth the extra amount for the added convenience of a remote and a lit display (which, by the way, looks great). |

DEH-P4050
Strength:
Never skips, great custom EQ,
Weakness:
Removable facia a little difficult to pull off Paid $429 (aussie dollars) at JB Hifi. I've been very satisfied with the unit. Its a little difficult to judge the sound quality of the unit, as it depend on the speakers etc, but the system as a whole sounds good. The main strength is the excellent features, especially the custom EQ, which is very useful for a car stereo. I have not found the display hard to read, as reported in other reviews. The DFS alarm would be useful for a basic car alarm, but I don't have it set up. Likewise the remote control. I am planning to try to stick it on the steering wheel with bluetack or something similar, but I haven't got around to it yet. The remote needs to be aimed at the deck, as its an IR system, which limits its use a fair bit. Similar Products Used: Only crappy Fujitsu Ten unit that came with car |

Strength:
The product has a great deal of features and power.
Weakness:
Virtually impossible to read in broad daylight. My OEM toyota casette radio had died. I decided to go CD. The pioneer series (DEH-P) had received good reviews from here. The only caveat mentioned for the 3000 series was that it couldn't be seen in daylight. So I brought the 4000 from Crutchfield (they give accurate instructions on installation and a toll free number to help in installing). The radio has a great many features and power. The oem speakers sound totally different and worlds better even just using the radio. I recommend it. However you still can't see the display in daylight. You may want to save so money and get the 3000 instead. |

Strength:
- Clear Display
Weakness:
- Only 10 character limit for memory A very nice mid range deck, perfect for those who want power and EQ flexibility but don't want to go to the expense of an additional subwoofer or EQ board. Similar Products Used: DEH 2000 |

Strength:
Great features
Weakness:
Hard to see display in daylight I paid a total of $320 at Circuit City (including installation, wiring harness, and plate). I really like everything about it except the display...very difficult to see in daylight. |

Strength:
Power, sound quality, skip-proof CD player, built-in EQ
Weakness:
Buttons instead of knob for volume, difficult to see display in bright sunlight This is my first in-dash CD player, and some of the gimmicks (such as being able to program the name of the CD) I find unneccessary. More important (to me) is the quality of sound the unit puts out, which is great. The CD transport is very stable--haven't heard it skip once yet. The EQ is a step above the typical 'bass boost' button (or some variant thereof) found on other in-dash CD decks of this price. Power output is clean and strong. The small remote is actually easy to use and the buttons are far enough apart so that it is difficult to hit the wrong one. Similar Products Used: Sony, JVC, and Kenwood cassette units |

Strength:
Inexpensive upgrade from factory radio. Comes with remote. Easy installation (do it yourselfers). Better than average power for systems without amps. Clear display.
Weakness:
When ejecting a CD while it's playing, radio shuts off instead of defaulting to FM. Paid $193.00 at www.gotitdirect.com. Great step up from old factory receiver. Good, clean sound even when turned up above road noise, however need speakers to match (obviously). For easy installtion, go to www.crutchfield.com and buy the EZ installation kit for your car. The menu could be a little more user friendly, and takes a while to cycle through. The remote is designed simple and concise and even though it doesn't have a lot of buttons, can control pretty much everything. Easily memorized "raised" buttons on remote so can use without looking at it. Runs hot when volume is turned up, so I figure it could be aided by an amp. |
