Not adaptable to GM vehicle.

This unit sounds great. You don't have to connect speaker wire. It sends the signal to a radio wave station. I am having trouble finding a backup 12 disc cartridge for this unit. Also the directions say "NO Profesional installation needed. I had a tough time finding adapter plugs for the antenna hook up to My 97 Cavalair. Aparently GM vehicles use a different size connection. Make sure you ask for install parts. Better yet...have it installed, you'll like it.

- i actually have a pioneer deck, so would've preferred to connect via the ip bus, but for $75, i'm satisfied with fm modulation

this is actually the 1227 (no ip bus option)....

i was looking for a cd changer to add to my pioneer cd head unit. it has changer controls so i was looking at pioneer changers. figured it was worth it to spring for a 12 cd unit.

found a nice unit on ebay, but it was fm modulated instead of ip bus (specific for pioneer's head units). i figured that was ok, i could use the changer in another car if i chose. it turns out it was missing the wireless remote, but unit worked fine, just playing track after track, cd after cd. ordered the remote $30, from pioneer.

tried installing myself, but was confused on where to tap in for power. otherwise, the rest seems pretty easy. have mine under my front passenger side. the wired display is velcroed conveniently in my center consol (i can unvelcro and hide it if needed). the remote for the 1227 is a bit bigger than the credit card size for the 1257, but since i have a credit size remote for the headunit, it's nice to know the difference by feel....of course, it'd be nicer to just have 1 remote!

may give the 1227 to my girlfriend or siblings and get a changer w/ip bus later one. otherwise a great unit and a great price!
