tuff sound and features
Weakness:
none awesome features. you'll like the way the hidden face. you dont have to worry about removing face and keeping it safe. its a great head unit for quality sound. i've never had a huge system run off of it, but it has fit my needs for good sounding music. the women seem to like especially. Strength:
MASK, looks, power (40Wx4)
Weakness:
Text scrolling takes too long to program, and the radio broadcast text is barely available where I live. Great unit. Works well, but the options for sound, such as bass and treble levels are weak. Only 4 levels up and down from the normal selection. Lots of power, for the time, and it powers my small system well. I have no subs. Only 1 problem, the MASK system failed and the entire deck doesn't work anymore. It will probably cost me to fix it, and I don't look forward to ripping my dash apart to pull it out. |

The motorized face is beautiful... quite an eye-catcher. The sound is quite clean and has sufficient power. Display is nice and remote is quite handy.
Weakness:
Only 2 pre-outs... it would be nice if it had a sub-output. The eq is somewhat useless because you can't change bass under 100hz. The motor for the MASK jammed up once already... another $80 to fix. I paid about $450 canadian in early '98. For the show and basic necessities, it's a great HU. But if you want to expand on your sound system, you might want to look into something that has 3 preouts - something Kenwood should change in their line. The motor unit seems slow compared to the new units that Sony and Pioneer have now... theirs seems smoother too. Overall, I do recommend this HU for normal use... great sound, and I powered two 10" McIntosh subs without any problem at all. It looks beautiful at night. Strength:
The face mask is great, you don't have to carry the head unit or hide it in the car. The dispays are very good and very simple to use. The sound quality is also very good on the CD Player
Weakness:
The FM tuning is somehow weak, I would like to see a know to control the volume on the head unit. The Crossover included is not very effective if you ask me but I don't use it and the EQ is just a display beside being nice it's not usefull. The radio is pretty good, I am not sure if I would buy it again but I have been satisfied with the unit. No problem with the Mask and the sound is very good. Similar Products Used: None |

Great looks, mask revolving face plate, powerful internal amp, many features.
Weakness:
Not much negative to say about this HU. Does have some features that I don't use, and seem pointless to me. Paid around 400 for it, probably could've gotten a better deal, but I didn't know much about car audio when I bought it. I recommend it for anyone looking for an affordable great head unit. Similar Products Used: Best HU out of all of the people I know, in my opinion, looks awesome and the MASK plate impresses everyone. |

Lots of features I dont need or use increased price: I love this unit it is very flexible and even though it replaces a non powered high end unit it holds it's own against that quad amplified through pasive eq complex system. I am running 1 external amp powering my bandpass dual 10 inch sub |
