Strength:
The unit''s CD hasn''t skipped yet. The radio reception appears as strong as any other stereo I''ve had. Many preset audio settings are helpful.
Weakness:
Like most other units I''ve looked at, the unit has buttons for volume control instead of rotary knob, but this could be labelled a personal preference. The controls are not as intuitive as previous Kenwoods. I find it difficult to re-learn the controls when I am in the car after driving my other autos. So far so good. Installation was very easy with provided kit. The unit slides in place of VW Monsoon unit with ease. It did not require ANY modification of the dash or mounting sleeve in the dash. The "cubby" below the stock unit is still in the same place and functional. The unit works well with the Monsoon amp/speakers. Decent radio reception. CD player hasn''t skipped once in these first two months. Radio controls/displays match VW dash lights very well. I give 5 stars for value due to the unit''s "stock" lighting, and sound quality. I give 4 stars for overall rating, simply because this unit is not top of the line (NOTE: This is not that I think the unit is less than perfect but I wouldn''t equate a KIA with a Mercedes either, although either could accomplish the job), and the controls could be better Similar Products Used: None |
